We’re those his then original, older fans? Gen Z and millennials should be loving him. They missed one of the greatest, bcs new music is mostly bad. I was with George “I’m Your Man,” and ever since. During recent heat wave, I watched him do this grand concert, and I loved it. Nothing George Michael has ever done musically or otherwise will make me love him less. About to turn 70, I listen to and love him more than ever. Reply

I, like many others grew up listening to George Michael. From the very beginning with Wham, I thought that he was a true talent. When he went solo, he didn’t disappoint his fans, in fact he gained even more! One of the very best singer/songwriters of all time. He maybe gone, but he certainly will never be forgotten. He lives on, through his music, thank you George, for being such a beautiful soul, thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us. Rest easy, my dear old friend, until we meet again. 🙏🏽💜.

Lisa T, I couldn't agree more Lisa. Literally two of my all time favorite singers period. However they were of my generation/a bit older, so that made them perfect to "grow up" listening to them and continue as you're an adult because the both were such amazingly rare talents. They were both on a rare list(this was b4 streaming, downloading, etc) of artists that I would do a "blind buy" on. If it had their name on it and I'd never heard it, didn't matter I'd buy it without a doubt. Because you always knew it was going to be superb. For Whitney, that did sadly change as she seemingly forever changed her voice with smoking and whatever else. It was just at that time a tragedy. I recall my BFF who shares my love of Whitney & George and most other things, bought "Just Whitney" we were sampling and then saw that she covered Debbie Boone's "You Light up my Life". Well, we knew that was something WH would sing the hell of, kept waiting, the song ended we just looked at each other confused, astonished that she did such a "flat, uninspired, unentertaining" cover of a song she should've torn into and left us with that feeling that few people in the history of music ever could. It was the beginning of the end for her, I hoped just her career, but sadly that wasn't to be and now also Bobbi Kris too, just horrific. George passing so suddenly was even more of a shock, though both were just surreal. At a family Christmas open house I came into a room where it was so casually being discussed that GM had just died. They had no idea how much I adored him, his artistry. Then someone says "it must've been AIDS", I had to say just b/c a gay man dies doesn't mean it's HIV/AIDS. It didn't matter what else was said, only the gutted feeling I had that not only someone I found 2b extremely talented, writing, producing, playing all the instruments on his albums and singing them too, what a great song writer. Especially for those that kept following him beyond "Faith" & beyond just the singles, he wasn't prolific, but what he gave us was pure quality, no filler. We've lost so many greats from "my time of growing up & beyond" (was it that same time for you also Lisa?), music is my oxygen. Most of the Icons are gone, MJ, WH, Prince,David Bowie, George Michael and more, sad doesn't come close... Peace & take care.

Mark Ulrich : It has taken me over a year to read this comment. I actually fell into a deep depression after hearing the news of George Micheal's death. It absolutely devestated me. I just.. Could not believe he was gone. I didn't want to believe all of the news reports and twitter replies from other artists in the industry. I could not accept my dear George was gone. It was bad enough that I was menopausal (Lol) at the time, so my emotions were already a mess.. It was bad enough I was going through changes at work and right after eating Christmas dinner, my husband, along with some other family members, watched a movie and while doing so, my husband was on his phone. He was on Facebook, actually. He said, "Hmm, looks like the singer, George Michael died today. Didn't he have a Christmas song?" I will never forget the tone of my husband's voice. I squeezed his hand next to me. "Please tell me this is a hoax. George Michael did not die on Christmas," I said matter-of-factly. "No way!" After the movie ended, I decided to do a Google search myself. It was everywhere and it was true. I cried the longest "noooo" sound. I cried in disbelief and sheer pain. My heart sunk so low. My eyes started to water. I had to leave the room, where everyone was. Seriously. I got up slowly and went into the bathroom, phone still in hand. Someone asked if I was "all right" and I wasn't. One of the best male voices of the past 30 years was gone. My heart was so sad because as big as a fan of his music I was, I never saw him live. I have nearly all of his albums. All but two. I was so terribly sad for several months. I never knew how much of an impact his music meant to me. It was evident in my depression. I eventually got myself together again by March but whammo! Did George Micheal's death hit me hard. I knew he wrote and sang songs that reflected his life. He endured a lot of pain and I pray he is at peace now. His music will forever live in our hearts.

Its only now that we listen to words of George songs we can hear the torment in his mind and what he was trying to say with he's beautiful lyrics in later years. When you been on the dark side with a tortured trouble mind and personally know what its like and its hard to come back without help or like yourself. And its becomes so easy to press the self destruction button. From a fan of the same age who was on the same ride as lots of us grew up with George being like friend we never knew he was somebody through his music touch our lives. I can remember George saying what is it with the public when screw up and publicly humiliate myself my career pops back up like a duck in the bath. The main reason was you pure talent in his music also we all could see your human mistakes that we all make but loved your honesty about them. I dont care what the haters will say about you or your sexuality thats nothing to do them nor should we sit here a judge you !!!!! We are all saints we are all sinners so let the first Person who hasn't sinned cast the first stone. God bless you may you be welcome in heaven

Exactly..God is our final judge anyway.. like you said, everyone makes mistakes.. no one is perfect. George's music, especially the past 15 years, was so heartfelt. Like, the older he got, the more mounumental and honest his music became. He aged like a fine wine. He saw life for how cruel it can really be and didn't stray away from it. He constantly spoke about the British press being "unrelenting hunted hounds" and how he got "blacklisted" by the American record label Sony, after 1998.

Lisa T, I agree with you totally! On that note of how hounded he was... we sure did miss out on a lot of music by one of the most talented singer/songwriter/producer/musicians of all time b/c he was so unrelentingly chased and not supported by his record label(s). I can only imagine he's got some great music we've never heard. Have you heard the song he wrote about the very painful ending of his relationship with Kenny? I just did, surprised I didn't before called "Where I hope you are". It's a really emotional song check it out here on KZitem, some of the vids he explains quite a bit of what he meant, why he wrote it and how he feels about Kenny and the end of their love. This is a song anyone in love with someone that it cannot work out with can truly relate to, gender is irrelevant, it's about the heart, love and pain. All universal...we are all so much more alike than not, if we'd just give each other a chance... Peace to all, especially George. ❤✌🏼

Is that enough? I think it's over See, everything has changed And all this hatred may just make me strong enough To walk away They may chase me to the ends of the earth But I've got you babe And they may strip me of the things that I've worked for But I've had my say So hear me now I've enough of these chains I know they're of my making No one else to blame for where I stand today I've no memory of truth But suddenly the audience is so cruel So God, hey God you know why I'm through Through I guess it's tough, I guess I'm older And everything must change But all this cruelty and money instead of love People, have we no shame? They may chase me to the ends of the earth But I've got you babe And they may take away the things that I've worked for But you'll pull me through It's so clear to me now I've enough of these chains Life is there for the taking What kind of fool would remain in this cheap gilded cage I've no memory of truth But suddenly the audience is so cruel Oh God, I'm sorry I think I'm through I think I'm through I think I'm, I know I'm

Such a sad song but beautiful at the same time with George's beautiful voice. It is very true, that only now can you really hear what he was going through, a very troubled and sad life. Never forget you George, your music lives on, R I P xxx

George I miss you and love you so much. I still struggle to accept your passing: time will never heal this wound. You made this world a much nicer place by being a part of it. Such a mesmerisingly beautiful voice, a heart of gold, so very gentle, amazing sense of humour, highly intelligent and so very generous and philanthropic . Thank you for everything. How lucky we were to have you. You have enriched our lives in so many ways. We danced with you during times of joy, cried with you during great sadness and felt less alone when times were unbearable. Thank you George. R.I.P. Angel: you have....... and will always...... be so very loved. 🦋😢❣️
