Alec Baldwin has a lot of liability and culpability. Obviously it was an accident and he probably has a lot of guilt but he was a producer on that project and he cut corners. He put money over safety. That guy needs to face consequences for those things along with everyone who made the decision to cut corners. His call for police to be required on film sets to take care of gun safety soon after the incident speaks volumes. That being said, I'll give you that reactions are interesting......I feel that some people's "opinion on the situation" (as if they had access to all relevant information) would have a completely different point of view on the situation had Alec Baldwin been some right winger who parodied the Clinton on some random show instead of Trump on SNL.......Actually there'd probably be plenty of stupid rumour that he would have been framed by. the Clintons (Don't get me wrong, I'm not an especially huge fan of the Clintons and such a theory would be ridiculous no matter what people's political opinions are.) He wasnt asked some important questions like: " So you say before that police told you that you cant talk about the case, and now you can, why? " So the director was shot in the shoulder and he screamed, but no one in the set suspect Hylina was shot? You are confirmein that everyone was thinking that he just faint? What if the Real Bullets were enter to the set by accident? For example someone that wanted to fire guns outside fur fun. Do you think he is responsible of the death and not the person who shot the weapon withou following GUN SAfety Rules? What do you think of the gun safety rules that experts say you didnt follow? ETC.

From what I've read about this incident, the unsafe circumstances came from poor choices made by the producers (of which Baldwin was one). This was at a time when the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees was on the verge of a strike, and so instead of keeping well-qualified union-backed weapons masters on set, the producers of this movie apparently hired poorly trained armorers, who obviously didn't have the ability to maintain a safe workplace. This is the summary of the situation I got out of the early reports I came across. I haven't paid much attention to the story since, because it's just tragic and gross to think that greed and an urgency to carry on, regardless of poor working conditions, is ultimately what led to a person's death. Have you heard the same? Baldwin is the public face, but it seems to me that many individuals behind the scenes are responsible for what happened, and I imagine that the ongoing investigation is drawing out these details. IATSE had a really strong case with their efforts this autumn, and they were eventually able to avoid a strike and negotiate better hours and better pay for union members. If only these movie producers would have cared about safety and doing things the right way, maybe having some patience, perhaps this wouldn't have happened.

When this happened, all I could think of was an interview Jim Parsons gave at an awards show. He was acting very anxious and nervous. The interviewer asked him why? He was up for an award against Alec Baldwin and Alec apparently had just threatened him with bodily harm if Jim won. Jim was not taking it like Alec was joking. He looked very worried.

@@bindlepig8064 in a normal circumstance you are correct, but just to give you an analogy: if we're on the set of a movie and the lights come down on someone's head, is it the fault of the person not looking up to ensure they don't get squashed or is it the person whom installed those lights? There is an armorer for a reason and we are talking about an actor here. These actors may not be gun owners therefore they can't be expected to be trained in proper firearm safety. I own a beretta 92fs and .350 legend AR 15 platform an HK usp. 40 compact stainless steel and an Walther p22 Target model. I would not handle any of these handguns without first engaging the safety checking the magazine doing a bump check. If I were to let someone else handle any of these firearms I'm going to clear and empty these firearms. This is because prior to my purchasing of any of these firearms I did extensive research on the responsibilities and proper protocols when handling and owning a firearm did a lot of range training. But Alec may not be firearms expert or owner that's why we have these armorers and experts everyone has a job

I truly hope he gets through this ...Whoever was in charge of checking the guns that person is obviously the person that needs to be held accountable whoever it is whose job is to "thoroughly check out and look at the guns before they go on set" it is that person's responsibility besides that everybody else needs to relax on the issue/ but they won't because people love to "be ignorant" and put out ignorant comments!!!

GS proves here he is a joke as an interviewer. He ignores blatant lies and omissions. 15 minutes for emergency service arrival," I stood over her for maybe 60 seconds then I was ordered out of the building.: GS: so what did you do for the 14 minutes before that? Oh, he forgot that question. How does an SAA go off without a finger touching a trigger? It can't. In a gunsmoke filled room with a dying woman shot through and through the torso and a man also puddling blood after you shoot them while frantic witnesses call 911 and report 2 people shot by you, and yet somehow it took you 4 hours to learn they had been shot? What a sick claim, what a terribly not intense interview that was.

This probably wouldn't have happened if Baldwin was a gun enthusiast. Anyone who's not reckless moron would have checked the gun, it's just something you do when your handed a firearm. It makes me cringe when they call him a victim, he was careless and should be held accountable in my opinion.
