Watch me man some garbage. Automizers are so lame in comparison, I'm very glad I got to experience working on these Lodals while they were still pretty common in Portland. These newer builds had some quirks with how the hydraulics and packer controls worked, making them slower on route. Of particular annoyance was the slow throttle reaction time for the auto pack and outside throttle functions. Partially solved with short cycling the packer to speed up the tipper, and trying to avoid having the packer running when taking off from a stop. Still, nothing really compared to the older builds with the cable shifter and wrist button to kill the speed up.
This route is the eastern part of Irvington in NE Portland. A few of the carts still say "Dave's" from the previous company. Or rather previous guy with a truck. Dave sold his route to Bruce Heiberg and Dave's son stayed on and continued to collect in the same neighborhood. Dude must have been on vacation if I was doing the route, If I remember correctly Heiberg gave you 4 weeks if you had been there long enough. Plus you got to drive Lodals. Pretty great place to work.
Thanks to Heiberg Garbage and Recycling for the job I guess, and to the driver for being such a forking stud and making this possible. Please like, subscribe, and tell your mother I said hi.
