@@timelkin838You can only blame it on Putin if you disregard everything Biden did, starting when he was Obama's guy for Ukraine - and that includes Nuland's 5 billion dollars to get the far-right nationalists into power who then pressured Selenski with death threats to get him in line; Selenski who ran and won his presidency as a candidate for peace. The war-craving Ukrainian nationalists turned him into a president of war. Then take Selenski's speech at the Munich Security Conference into account, mere days before the invasion, where he stated that he no longer feels bound to the Budapest Memorandum (no nukes in Ukraine in exchange for territorial integrity) - that was the last red line crossed. Look at a map and see how close Ukrainian NATO nukes would have been to Moscow, mere seconds of flight time for a Patriot battery fired nuke. It would not have gotten any better from this point on, even without Russian entering an all-out war. What Putin did was bad, but the alternative would have been worse, a nuclear armageddon. NATO wanted this war and Putin evaded it for 8 years until there was no room left, no time left and every Russian suggestion for mutual security assurances ignored by NATO. They wanted it. Putin gave it to them when he had no other choice left. And now Ukrainians are paying for it. So are the Russian soldiers and the Russian civilians within reach of Ukrainian drones, along with the Ukrainians in the East who have been shelled and sniped for almost ten years by now, upwards of 10k dead Ukrainian civilians killed by Ukrainian nationalists, according to the OECD count, before "Putin's war" even began.

Putin did have respect for the little girl though, he was so much nicer to her then Bush.

+Laura Bongaardt its all just some show. At least Bush tried to improve relations though and if Donald becomes president he even said he wants to improve relations with Russia (not at all to say Putin and Trump will be the best of pals, though Putin did endorse Trump but in the end its all politics) and that's something we seriously need and should do, imagine how much could be accomplished if two of the most influential nations in the world work together and set aside their differences. Of course that's just being optimistic, seeing how liberal the US is turning out to be but its a worthy goal.
@laurabongaardt6995

+TheDarkSider The world would be fantastic if Russia and US would get a long, absolutely. But Bush was just completely blindsided with his ambition, sucking up to him to get Putin to do what he wanted him to do. And with Putin that obviously doesn't work. You have to be sincere and open to build relations. Russia wants a good relationship, they're screaming for it, but US is completely stuck in its own bubble and won't listen to anything. With Trump they finally see a chance for it. US absolutely needs Trump. It will be a turbulent ride for sure, but America will get its spark back again.
