I have been doing calisthenics for over a year and despite a more than decent level of strength with pull-ups, I have been struggling hard with muscle up. I simply could not shake off the vertical movement and I've started thinking I was not strong enough. I have watched tons of content on the matter, but this is the video I was missing. Thanks

Brother i had been trying muscle ups for over 2 months but was not able to do it although i have decent pulling and pushing strength (15 pullup 50pushup) . But after noting that point on elbows in for high pull-ups i did 3 straight muscle ups in 1st try🙏 You are absolutely a genius to point out mistakes for a beginner!!

Thanks for the tutorial, never seen this unique approach of doing high pullups from a pseudo-CTI. If you transition from a diagonal hold to a straight bar impossible dip would you get a slow muscle up with no piking of the hips? That's something I was wondering about and I haven't seen anyone try it yet but after your video it seems possible for someone who can lean back a lot in impossible dips, maybe some of those who are also good at the reverse planche would be able to do it. Are you going to post this in r/bodyweightfitness? It's really the best breakdown of high pullups I've ever seen.
@GeorgeWorkout
6 жыл бұрын
I think I've seen Vadim Oleynik doing an almost straight arm muscle up years ago. If you find the video you will be blown away. He pushed through the CTI without holding it (obviously) and proceeded to go up and completed an actual muscleup with almost locked arms. And he did it slow. Seriously if you can find that video link it to me. I lost it. I'd like to post it there man, cuz I'd probably get a few thousands of views but the moderators might not like self promotion.
@MassimoKokhno
6 жыл бұрын
To post your tutorial just summarize the main points in the post's text and add some short tips/observations and I think they will allow it, or before submitting the post message the moderators with the draft and ask them if it's fine, that's a sure way of avoiding problems. I have seen many do impossible muscle ups, also called TEMU (tricep extension muscle up) by some, but all of them kept the legs in an L. Since I've seen people do a sort of tricep extension from parallel bar Victorian to reverse planche I think something similar could be done in a slow bar muscle up. Maybe Vadym really did that almost straight arm version, I'll try looking for it.

Almost every tuto i could find on explosive pull or muscle up was nothing else than: " ok guys! To do this movement you need to be explosive and strong ! Look, i'll show you. You see it s easy for me ! Now your turn!" Okaaayy... Keep up the good work! I think your advices will definetely help me ;)

George, thanks for the handstand tutorial video, it's been three months since I first started and now I can hold a handstand for 22-23 seconds. Can you make a video about low bar muscle ups? I can do 5 not so clean muscle ups but since there are no pull up bars high enough at where I live right now, the only option left for me is o do muscle ups on a low bar that stands about 3 1/2 feet. I can do 1 low bar muscle up with shitty form though.
