Definitelyit's a yoko wakare. Hikikomi gaeshi is a complete different technique. If it was hikikomi, a leg should be between the legs of the opponent and he should be rolling over forward not sideways. Also yoko wakare is a yoko sutemi waza where tori falls sideways on his side and hikikomi gaeshi is a masutemi waza, where tori falls all over his back

It's a reverse yoko wakare. Yoko wakare is performed in the same direction as the stance. In this variation, the spin is to the opposite of the original stance. The original title is completely right. It's not a hiki komi or a yoko wakare. It's a reverse yoko wakare.

I bet my house the IJF will ban this and make Judo even more boring.

looks more like "reverse yoko wakare" than Hikikomi Gaeshi 🤔 lets just call it the "booty drop" and get on with randori

I agree. It's a yoko hikikomi gaeshi. This throw has been used for decades.

Yes you're right, to name that variation, the correct name will be as @daryn said, yoko Hikkikomi-gaeshi

it has nothing to do with hikikomi-gaeshi

@@igorlinhares9257 If you perform a search, you will see. I used the throw once in a while myself, for very defensive opponents, since the 1980's. It was one of Kashiwazaki's techniques, if I recall correctly.
