Seems the flight time is less with the 7.5" props and bigger 2809 motors. Many pilots also found that with the chimera7 V2 vs the V1. Shurely it has more power, but power comes out of a lipo being sucked even more.
@minaexperiment

Yeah, i think iflight said that they use those big motors so the quad can carry a huge lion, like 8000mah+ without problem. Mayby they also put larger motors to make it handle wind better and pull out of dives. It will fly more stable and better. Dont know. I would not put 2809 on a pure LR quad. As you said, less flightime and more sag.

@@minaexperiment Yeah the bigger props and motors can carry the 8000mah battery much better with more Power and control. My 7" long range experience is that a 6s2p 18650 5600mah is about the limit of what still feels good in the air with long flight time. For pure flight feel a 4000mah 21700 pack is actually best. Hey, thanks for the awesome presentation! I gotta say, you've got me seriously considering pulling the trigger on this drone. But, I've still got a couple of lingering questions that didn't quite make it into your review. So, here goes: What's the deal when the signal goes MIA? I'm curious if this drone's got a knack for going up, up, and away to reconnect, or if it's more of a backtrack and return kind of deal. See, I love cruising with my DJI FPV in the Alps, and every now and then, it goes radio silent. The DJI FPV usually goes on a little vertical adventure to reestablish the connection, but I'm not sure if this drone does the same. If it doesn't, we might have a head-on collision situation with obstacles, right? And then, here's the second head-scratcher: If I slap an 8000 mAh battery and a GoPro on this bad boy, will I have enough wiggle room to adjust the GoPro angle for that perfect shot at top drone speed?
@CAPTAINDRONE798
11 ай бұрын
The GPS is called GPS rescue which means if you lose connection with the drone (not video but signal) it will rise up and come back in your direction so you can take over the flight. Keep in mind this is the Advanced FPV hobby and not like the DJI beginner drones with all the flight assistance and safety features, so you can loose video signal but still be connected to the drone & you need to know what to do. Batteries come in all shapes and sizes so it depends on the battery you use as to how much space remains for your GoPro.

Thanks a bunch for this response; I'm grateful for it. So, does the drone initiate the ascent on its own (for instance, if it's positioned behind a mountain peak, will it rise to avoid crashing into it)? I understand you've got a lot on your plate, but please help me clear this up because your response has sparked a new question in my mind: what happens if the video signal is lost? I'm not entirely sure about the distinction between signal loss and video connection loss...@@CAPTAINDRONE798

The unbox is shown in the video. Every person in the FPV Drone hobby began at level zero with knowledge and skills. They all did a pile of research because the hobby is very confusing. Keep researching so that you know what to expect. You need to learn how to operate an RC battery charger and understand batteries. You need to understand RECEIVERS and TRANSMITTERS and CONFIGURATION software. Finally you need amazing hand/eye skills to fly and not crash.

Wow, cool drones! But what is this 1280 kv figure? "kv" in my electronics tech world is "kilovolts", or 1,000 volts. This couldn't mean that, right? Steve, please explain! I love watching you flying these lightspeed FPV drones. It's amazing! But the practicalities of my world make FPV extraneous. If you fly FPV with goggles here in the UK, the drone law requires that you have a "spotter" to observe your flight and able to warn you of airspace problems that you might not notice due to being in the goggles. I suspect that a lot of FPV flyers here ignore the law. I don't, and my wife is not particularly interested in being my "spotter". Another factor is that my primary interest is with getting cinematic videos and aerial photography. This MOZ 7 flies way too fast to get decent cinematics, I believe. Or can it fly slower so as to get good cine?
@CAPTAINDRONE798
Жыл бұрын
Brushless Kv motor discussions are plentiful on KZitem, especially for FPV drones, so I won’t spend 25 lines repeating here (my fingers will cramp). In Canada (my country) we use spotters when flying around people or if flying high in private/commercial airspace. In the old days I wasted time in vids pointing out spotters and their function, but honestly it is not my job to point out the thousands of rules a drone pilot needs to follow in every single video. However, anyone watching my vids will always see my fly at tree top level, avoid where humans exist, and fly in the quiet early times of day when there is no activity. Safety is key in all my vids.
@cyberherbalist

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 - Thanks for the Kv clue. I can now look it up myself. Wasn't sure whether it was a typo, or some kind of arcane slang! You never know with this kind of a thing -- as a retired computer programmer, I've gotten into conversations with my peers that even a genius in another field would have been completely flummoxed over! Wasn't sure about the drone laws in Canada, and I wasn't suggesting you weren't flying safely. You've always seemed to me to be a very safety conscious flyer. Another drone review channel, one based in Hawaii, once flew a drone ten miles over to another island off Oahu -- where he absolutely couldn't have had VLOS. Surprised the FAA didn't fine him for it.
@CAPTAINDRONE798
Жыл бұрын
@@cyberherbalist I can say that from my fellow Drone pilots in the USA, that the FAA really does not have the resources to reach out to every drone pilot doing something incorrect, unless of course their is a complaint. So, the rule of thumb is.... Don't fly around people because even if one is following the rules, it just takes one individual to believe you are annoying them and lodging a complaint with the FAA. In Canada, surprisingly, the only drones I often see are mine or my fellow friends. Rarely have I ever seen a stranger flying a drone, so I must conclude that either there are few drones in my area or people are wise and fly the drones in locations where other humans are not playing.

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 - That's kind of my experience in the UK, too! In five years of drone flying, I've happened upon exactly two other people who were flying drones when I was. But I am aware of some people who have posted drone flights that were obviously against the rules, and gotten dinged by the FAA. But, as you say, probably because somebody reported them.
