ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Carib vibes! My family is from Jamaica, so this gave me all the feels! Also, as a NYC kid, this is a similar story for all of us Caribbean folks. I laughed about the mention of Gun Hill Road. I still have family in the Bronx right around there. I definitely enjoyed learning more about Gerd and his upbringing. This is a beautiful channel...Glad I subscribed! 🙂💕

I totally identify with the shower and bathroom situation! My dad sent me to Puerto Rico and my first weekend in the mountains of Comerio, there was no running water... We had to shower outside with the rain water and use the latrine... Very humble beginnings, I never take those luxuries for granted... Honestly now? They're kind of like my best memories.... Simpler times and my aunts were laughing at me because i was from NYC complaining about living in PR... It's funny NOW lol but then I was crying to go back home....

Gerds mum returning to study and graduating at 40 is incredible and inspiring. Ive been thinking about returning to study and it was my age (Im in my 30s) that was stopping me.

I absolutely love this. I smiled throughout. I can so relate to the stories from your home country. This also made me so emotional. God is so amazing and faithful! I love a good immigrant story! I will share this with my boys.
