It is a Swiss Pack indeed. We did not have that kind of thing. Though very nice intrduction.

Thank you for the great gear review and actually having the pack filled with gear so we can see what can fit in there. Most reviewers try to stuff it with pillows or just leave it empty.

@BushBerti, @Snowalker13 I agree, this is the Swiss Mountain Rucksack, which is the rubberized version of the earlier "Salt & Pepper" canvas rucksack. The German Mountain rucksack is only semi-rubbersized OD canvas (on the bottom and inside of the top flap), and has two side pockets instead of a single front pocket. Very nice review, all the same!

Hey SnowWalker! Sure can't beat Canvas! It's durable and will last you a lifetime! I'm partial to my Italian military issue, canvas ruck! Can't wait to see more videos! All the best, John

@novascotiansurvival I think they have very similar ones. With this one however I am pretty sure it's the version the German army uses for its moutaineering forces.

I like it, the only thing it looked like to me though was there was not enough outside attach points for what I like to carry. Esspessially on the bottom.

@BushBerti Thanks for that I guess they had the tag mis-labeled Wildhog said this as well but I wonder if the company made them for the German military as well cause i have a Victornox Pocket knife made for the German Military by a Swiss Co. ?

@Heavyb2u I bought one of those from Sportsmans' Gude for $13 too small, short shoulder straps so I stuck with my alice pack until I found this, so yep it fits the bill for 1-3 day trips.

@muddog1561 I gotcha what else would you carry? Just remember this was not a what I carry video, just a pack review, but I can tell ya a person needs to design there own kit, right down to the pack, but i'm sure you know that! It's just an option. Thanks for the comments thats how we learn.

Yeah there was discussion about this prior to your comment, and in fact after talking to many outside of YT it was issued to both Militaries, just like Victornox makes a soldiers pocket knife for the Swiss and Germans thanks........

@Snowalker13 I'm just basing my opinion on your review, I would take a second look at this pack if I ever come across one that I could handle based on your review. I do like the pack.

@Snowalker13 oh, I understand it was a review and not what I carry video my point was just that I don't think the pack would work for me because of what I carry. It would for me anyway make a good day trip pack. Of course it might also be plenty big enough for me to carry what I would normally carry for an over niter or longer, it's just what I'm using now I have to lash some of my stuff on the out side so I could be totally wrong about my statement.

Hey Snowwalker or anyone else, does anyone have some more info on these packs? I've seen various versions and was wondering if there is a link for the low down on all of these, really great looking packs.

Just out of curiosity, how tall are you? I really want to get this bag for EDC because it just looks fantastic and I'll be moving to Vancouver where it rains on a routine basis, but I'm 5'8 and am worried it might be too much.

I can honestly say the swiss mountain ruck, especially the salt and pepper version, have the frost river packs beat by miles! ive owned the FR Isle Royale Large and the Junior also the FR Timber Cruiser and a FR custom built pack. The FR packs fall short next to these Swiss built beauties....woods

Low sound, noisy sound and poor sound quality. I like your videos, don't get me wrong, but the sound quality on this one is poor. I honestly think a lot of you guys would be much better off filming and then adding sound afterwards.
