Operation Long Jump, or Operation Rösselsprung in German, was a plan by the Germany during World War II that could have changed the course of history. Upon learning that British PM Winston Churchill, Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin, and U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt would all be together in November of 1943 attending the Tehran Conference in Iran, German intelligence crafted a mission with the aim of eliminating or kidnapping the leaders of all three of Germany’s greatest adversaries in one dramatic swoop. But was it even real to begin with?
