I don’t know how many of you are familiar with this German Mole Cake - Maulwurfkuchen. It is a very popular cake that many are preparing it using a store-bought Mole Cake Mix. This is a very easy cake that can be made from scratch, which I will share with you. I made my own recipe, a German Mocha Mole Cake - Chocolate Mocha Banana Cake, combining one of my favorite chocolate cake recipes with fresh bananas and mocha whipped cream.

Ingredients
Makes about 10 servings
Chocolate Mocha Cake
1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened Dutch-processed cocoa powder
2 tsp (8g) baking powder
1/2 tsp (2.5g) salt
3/4 cup (150g) sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup (60g) vegetable oil
1/2 cup (120g) buttermilk
1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract
1/2 cup (120ml) hot coffee
For filling
3 medium fresh bananas
Mocha Whipped Cream
2 cups (500g) whipping cream
1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar
2 ½ tsp (4g) instant coffee powder
1 oz (30g) mini chocolate rocks
