Best part is that it counts as thoughtful since you made it.

I'm gonna be so honest crochet doesn't really feel like an emergency gift 😭 takes so much time, effort, and skill
@jayrock0326
A gift like that would mean 10x more to me then if you bought something. I would still appreciate the other gifts but the fact you made it for me means more

In 3 hours, I'm not even finished with the tentacle part yet💀

My grandmother crocheted and made so many wonderful things that my family still fights over who gets to keep what, whether it's her blankets, or Christmas stockings, or even little pot holders. They are so treasured in my family. Even my kids are arguing now over who gets to inherit what when they're older! Crotcheters of the world, you are wonderful! Keep putting out your beautiful work in the world ❤

When 2 years ago I was unemployed and broke, my 2 teen cousins kinda wanted Christmas gifts, so I told them, that I couldn't buy them anything, but crochet or knit them something. So I gave them 2 handmade bags, and fantasy jewelry.

If any of my friends ever presented me with a handmade gift like this I would cry. It would go with me everywhere. ❤

My mom had been crocheting a baby blanket with paw prints for it. She didn’t know who it would go to, but made it waiting for it to call to her when it was suitable. Recently someone we know became pregnant, and her family used to raise puppies for a living. The blanket now has a home to go to when the lady is ready.

That’s not an emergency gift. That’s thoughtful. Gift cards are emergency gifts.

That gift will be a keepsake forever. I cherished every home-made gift for it's a labour of love.

I'm very happy to read all these comments from many kind hearted people... I'm practicing crochet for the past 20 years... I taught it to many friends too...but whenever I gifted crochet gifts which i thought useful to them, many people thought they were cheap because its handmade...i was demotivated n stopped making crochet gifts...now I'm making things only for myself n my daughters...

My wife is an expert knitter/crocheter. I was very skilled in woodwork until arthritis hit my hands.

Beautiful work! Can I give you a tip? When you insert safety eyes into a project with blanket yarn, they can pull through. If you take a square of material and place it against the crochet work, slip the safety eye through both the crochet and the material, and then put on the safety back, it stays better. :)

3 hours? That's amazing. I don't know what crochet is, but the result looks like something that would take way longer to make.
