Like your video, appreciate your perspective and thus why you carry certain items. Wanted to share with the rest of the class the match containers you showed they have small ferro rods on the bottom of them. And I'd like to suggest a replacement for the stakes. Harbor Freight carries the nail peg style stakes that could be poked through the grommets first as you mentioned, and they are less likely to bend. My first memories of camping are half the setup for a tent time was spent trying to use a hammer and rock to unbend several tent stakes because over half of them bent when trying to setup. Have a great weekend!

Protect, provide and prepare. I like that motto. I am also in a rural area and “going to town” is 45 minutes away. I also carry the SOS rations and New Millennium bars. They taste pretty good. I've been working on the same thing. One thing, I went with the titanium stakes (found some on sale. They are very light and can be used in fire to support a container. They can, I think, withstand higher temperature. I carry more water containers, too. I can fill them if needed from my "cargo". I also like the pack with the ballistic panel, though it lacks side pockets, etc. I, too, look at this as a collection of self-care items to keep me going so I can get home as fast as possible. Mole skin is good to add. I am seriously thinking of a bicycle for a huge improvement in travel time, if I can figure out how to fit it in the van. Thanks for a good video!
@Pineboxperspective
Ай бұрын
The thing about a bike, for me is that there are a lot of hills around. Fun to go down but not to go up, ha. Now, in an urban environment, I'd be all about it. Flat city sidewalks, ect. Where I'm at, I'd end up ditching it. I love riding bikes but, I tend to exert myself way more when peddling, as opposed to walking. A lot of online preppers and survivalist are getting e-bikes, now. I think that good for around your land or neighborhood but, I wouldn't keep one in a vehicle. Too big. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy hearing other people's ideas. Also, the titanium stakes are a great idea.

I just thought of this,I havent even done it yet. For those of us who wear prescription glasses, have a couple of eyeglass repair kits and glasses cleaner in your kit. Using a tshirt or some such scratches the lenses, and if its shtf, theres gonna be dust in the air, so avoid screwing up your glasses at all costs. Thought Id throw that out there.

If you want to scrap the shemagh, look into a cotton "lungi", or maybe just a different style of shemagh that is solid color or doesn’t have the checkered design pattern. About your food rations. One bar gives 400 kcal, for a total of 3600 kcal per pack (it says so on the package). I don't how big you are, but you will not survive on one bar a day. You will at least need 4 bars, and probably more, especially when you're on foot and walking all day. Just so you know 🙂

Regarding the Shemagh: the “Pro-Palestinian” or “Anti-Israel” only wear the white with black spots, it is called a Keffiyeh. The difference between a Shemagh and a Keffiyeh: “While both the Keffiyeh and Shemagh share similarities, the key difference lies in their patterns. The Keffiyeh typically showcases a checkered pattern, while the Shemagh often features a larger, more intricate design.”

I feel like you really need a compression bandage in your med kit. Cutting off the blood supply should be a very very last resort. First should be pressure. And a compression bandage can be used in other ways, like for splints or packing a puncture wound and it weighs nothing and is sterile. I always keep two in my purse, along with a sutures kit, sterile gloves, and a regular tourniquet.

I'm looking for an IWB (preferably quasi-reversible, sort of like SHTF Gear used to produce, that could be refitted for OWB carry) for a full frame FNP-45 with a TLR-4 Green laser/flashlight (funny, they say the attachment is for compacts and such, but butted up against my trigger guard, the end is flush with the end of the frame). Any ideas where to look? By the way. New subscriber. :D *edited for clarity*

I'll put this into my particular situation. I'm over 60, lived in 3 states, atleast 2 cities each state. (Particular situation is extremely unique) I've never needed a tourniquet. I probably wouldn't carry Ina 1 hr bag. Depending on location I may in a get home bag. Right now, I drive in 7 minutes, walk in 1 hour. Realistically 7 minutes no need. My car breaks down half way, more probable, 30 minute walk, in a city college town. A lot of that I do agree with, across the board, depending on situation. In my particular situation maybe maybe not. Now a 24 hour, get-home-bag, or 72 hr bag, definitely everything, probably more.
