Today we are replacing the keel rollers on the trailer for the Hobie 16. In lieu of the cheaper black rubber roller, we will be using a higher quality polyurethane roller that will not mark up the hulls as the roller age.
The next episodes will revolve around prepping for paint .
Materials Used :
-6 x 12" Stolz Polyurethane Straight Roller
- 2 rollers are cut to 4 x 6" for the sides
-12 x Pal nuts to fit your shaft size (mine was 5/8")
-800 grit wet or dry sandpaper
Tools:
-2 Hammers
-1 Prybar
-Marker
-Chop saw
-V-blocks
-Clamps
-Wood scraps to shim
Optional:
-4 x 12" x 5/8" (Actual length 13-3/8") Roller Shafts if replacing
-Angle grinder
-Steel cup brush
-Cut off disc
