I had an absolutely hellish experience with DOMS when I got back into squatting after having tendonitis in my knee. I'd been doing knee squats at lowish weights that didn't put much load on the tendon in the meantime and thus mostly maintained my strength. After a week of testing the waters I jumped back into full weight just fine, but had to skip on leg workouts for an entire week, and could barely walk. Gradually worked back to full weight and now it's all fine again.

Another helpful way is to consume turmeric. Turmeric has anti inflammatory properties and can really help to reduces muscle soreness. You can put it on your post workout meal or your post workout smoothie or protein shake along with black pepper. Black pepper helps our body absorb up to 2000% more turmeric than it would usually do. Also, I know that putting turmeric and black pepper in a smoothie may sound weird, but if you don't put too much of it, you won't even taste it.

@Mrissecool
4 жыл бұрын
No. It's for comfort reasons. Although if you have really extreme soreness, that probably means you're going to have a hard time recovering. I remember one time when I was about 15 and jumped on some extreme leg training routine for roided up bodybuilders, gave my all and was so sore after, that I literally had to call in sick to school as I couldn't walk on my own. Some people can get so sore that it impedes daily tasks
