I know that it's completely different music style but puffed cheeks are very very common in eastern Europe/balkans and turkey. And guess what, the best clarinet players come from there

@@kyrpousinI’m not a clarinet player so I can’t really comment on the last part, but if I use a jazz embouchure on a classical piece, it just won’t sound as good as it could, doesn’t matter on whether or not I’m an amazing jazz player

yeah but its creation and original purpose was for jazz. If you had to put it in jazz or concert, it would be jazz.

@@kylesparks1826 no it wasnt. Jazz wasnt even invented when clarinet was used for that purpose. It was used for classical coming from the chalameu in the 1700s. Jazz wasnt popular with clarinet until the 1920s and 30s

@@kylesparks1826 plus clarinet isnt used really in jazz. It got overshadowed by the saxophone. It is always used in concert while in jazz it can or cannot. Without clarinet in concert would be weird and bad. Im not saying hazz clarinet is bad. Im a clarinetist myself. I love playing jazz. But to say it would be used more in jazz would just be wrong

@edwardholder429 yeah your right about it being made way before jazz, I was tripping. It was heavily used in jazz early on though, and in my opinion, the oboe sounds a lot nicer and is a better concert instrument.

Thank you for saying that the clarinet is a jazz instrument. It is genuinely surprising how many people, even many band directors don't know that the clarinet was the original first reeded instrument in jazz bands.

Clarinet is still a concert instrument. Only the open g and a above it are that out of tune and you can mask it, meanwhile all saxs DO NOT BELONG IN A CONCERT SETTING

@friziafroze - when I watch your video on youTube, the picture is mirror imaged - It makes it seem like your right hand is higher than your left ( and 2nd octave key of the oboe also seems to be on the left ) but in real life, it's the other way around.

Ok look so I hope you don’t think I’m sounding rude bc it just made me a little mad when you called the parts wrong names but honestly it’s chill bc there five different names to remember but the correct names are Mouthpiece Barrel Top joint Bottom joint And bell Also the clarinet can play quite literally any genre of music it just depends on if the person can play it bc I play fur Elise on mine all the time while I also play marches and stuff also with playing your clarinet I recommend using a 2-2.5 since your newer it will help you play easier

@@zakirchinoy8980 it’s equally difficult because of the pitch (Clarinet(Bb) and Oboe(concert)) are completely different so you’re learning a whole bunch of new fingerings and then the embouchure is super hard to switch.

Not exactly. But in Concert Wind Bands, clarinets tend to be most numerous. Tangentially, Stroh string instruments are better for acoustic outdoor use.
