Got pulled to this rabbit hole of watches about a month ago, and all I've been doing is watching KZitem videos since then 😂 Even though I just came across your channel, I'm glad I did! Great review and beautiful watch!

I wear my MR01 for 2 or 3 days at a time and it barely loses a minute. My only gripe is that the movement is a little noisy. Other than that, I'm really happy with my blue-dial version.

I was considering this but the accuracy makes me think twice. I have a Hamilton Khaki Field for $500 that keeps time to within 5 seconds a day. I think my next watch may wind up being a Nomos Club Campus for $1500 instead. Gorgeous proprietary German movement and beautiful case quality.

Beautiful watch for the price. The +30 wouldn't be a deal breaker if you'd buy this watch for the purpose it was created: dress watch. However, for someone planning to wear this quite often, anything more than +/- 10 is a deal breaker imo. As a comparison, my Max Bill manual wind which is about 700 euro runs at +2/day out of the box.
@TheWatchScientists

You got a good point, but I have to say that from wearing mine even for 3 days in a row, it definitely runs better than +30. But yeah, when paying above 300€ for a daily, I would want it to be more accurate than +30 for sure

I guess they never claim what they had have regulated to in those 5 positions. SMH. Cheaper movement are hard to relate. My 7s26 vary a lot even after re oiling. Even my 6r15 has high positional variance, but I got the dial up and 12 down to under +4s and 3 down to -13s. I do a weight average of time spent on each position and it should be pretty close to +0s after a few days of wearing. Lifestyle has great impact on cheaper low efficiency movements. I would love to see how the Nomos DUW3001 does since it is supposedly 95% efficient. So it should have tighter tolerances, higher percision with less positional and temperature variance.

I doubt that they could afford to spend a lot of time regulating the movement for such a low price. Maybe i will have my watchmaker regulate it as i don’t have a timegrapher. Thanks for sharing :)

Accuracy is not necessarily that important for me. I wanted this watch because of the microrotor, salmon dial and Breguet numerals. For that price you can’t find that anywhere. I don’t know why you should need a master watchmaker though

I bought one of these with a beads of rice bracelet, but I must confess that I prefer to wear it with a brown leather strap. Luckily the bracelet fit very well on another vintage watch of mine (for which I couldn't find a suitable bracelet) and I love that it has the built-in quick release pin. In the end this purchase setup accidentally worked very well for me.

At 7:51 ...hard to find these things in this price range. That's the optimistic perspective; Whereas the pessimistic perspective would be that it's all too good to be true. And I tend to agree with the latter. Quality is commensurate with price, and you can't get something for nothing -- for example, a Chinese ébauche in a microbrand. Over at Average Bros he was talking about the secondhand market for this watch, so you could flip it for profit. That goes to show where the mindset is about gaming value.

Sorry guys, we need to be a bit honest here, +30s for a 732 euro watch is first of all not cheap at all, my baltany salmon dial watch is 174 euros and runs at plus 7-8s a day and is very very well made so it really is 4 times cheaper but the Baltic is certainly not 4 times better. It is a pretty weak deal and to me +30s is not okay especially if you note it has been regulated in France. Also the case is pretty simple to make in my eyes. Also hesalite, it is a choice its vintage inspired but my baltany vintage inspired beautiful sapphire crystal is really something else. Again a choice which I do not like that much tbh with you.
@TheWatchScientists

If those things are important to you then yes I agree. But you have to remember that other people don’t buy watches for the same reason you do. And it’s not like i tested it on a timegrapher, i just took maybe two measurements by eye. I bought that watch based on the looks and still love it for that

Beautiful dial but the unserviceable movement is not worth the money imho. Besides that 9.9mm isn’t the thickness that I’d say very thin.

I would always know the movement is a cheap imitation with painted screws, fake côtes de Genève and clumsy perlage. And the drastic inaccuracy of this movement is not because it wasn’t regulated but because of its low quality parts and construction. Beautiful design on the dial, otherwise.
@TheWatchScientists
Жыл бұрын
Of course you can easily see it, but if you see it in the flesh it does look pretty. I disagree, regulating will make it more accurate, the question is how long the movement can maintain that regulation. In any case i don’t think this movement will get any more accurate than +-15. But as i said in the video i was aware of that.
@just88
Жыл бұрын
You did not discuss the accuracy of the watch. On your text, you mentioned the "movement's accuracy" and in your video you said "how it performed over the ten days of wearing it" (4:06) - the video ended with me still waiting for you to mention its accuracy.
@TheWatchScientists

I am sure i mentioned that it lost around 30s per day, someone else commented that that would be too much for them. But it really depends on the individual watch, some perform much better
