In Halifax, visit the Citadel National Historic Site or Georges Island National Historic Site to experience a piece of our capital’s history firsthand. Fort Anne National Historic Site and Port Royal National Historic Site, located in the Annapolis Royal area, both feature a glimpse into life in the 1600s and 1700s. Visitors to Grand Pre National Historic Site will learn about Le Grand Derangement: a tragic event in Acadian history while taking in a guided tour of their beautiful grounds. In 2021, eight oTENTik’s were also installed to create a comforting camping experience.
