new to your channel, so I stopped in the first minute with the five yields. Sure I've "done " them all separately before, but you were so smooth and subtle, like the horse was your dance partner. Whoa! gotta learn that first! Thanks

I'm not sure you will see this but I have a question regarding the size of the circle . My horse is 17.2 HH. I'm pretty sure he would require at least a 6-ft circle. Does that sound adequate?

Absolutely give him a larger circle. Great question.

I’m happy to! When I’m teaching a horse yields, preparing them for something, or helping them relax, I’ll make contact with the halter rope or the reins (feel for the nose or mouth) and then close and open my ring finger and pinky in time with the outside hind leg. Never more than a few strides in a row.

@@reneesouth6583 I’d focus more on combining the hindquarter yield with the forward yield to create lateral flexion on the circle. I appreciate your questions and I’ll be sure to make a video on this specific topic. I have one posted currently that may help, it’s called “you won’t muscle this one into a soft circle.” Also be sure to give it time, with all the pieces in place, it takes me some work to achieve these things.
