Cremo shave cream and aftershave balm are excellent products. Been using them now for 3 years. But I use a lot more cream than almond size dollop. A bit more generous with the shave cream and it's just great stuff. Once you've put a generous amount on your face, then you rub it in your face and believe me, you get lather.

I've used Cremo for years, and it's exactly as you said. You can use as brushless or you can lather with a brush. I use more than an almond size, maybe 2 almonds. The hot water is necessary, but it results in a great shave. Enjoy!!

For me, Cremo works best when I'm rushed and don't have time to produce a proper lather. I simply only use my non-shaving hand to massage it in. I don't wash my non-shaving hand until the end of the shave, that way I always have some at the ready during the shave. Wishing you a very happy and safe holiday season. CHEERS!

Dang! - Been doing it all wrong. I put that almond-sized dollop on a damp brush & lather it in a bowl. It applies smoothly, is plenty slick and gives an exceptionally smooth shave with all my Techs, Superspeeds, Super Adjustables, clones and even the Knack. It leaves lather enough to keep track of areas to shave.

Picked up a tube for 10 bucks at the local drug store the other day on a whim I’ve been meaning to try it for some time. I followed the instructions which yielded a very thin layer of lather like Mr. Sinatra in the video but it was slick. I did a three pass shave with mild pressure. I have very sensitive skin so I don’t shave everyday and can’t be overly aggressive especially in my goatee area because if I do I definitely start feeling and seeing the razor burn about 24 hours later. Well as of this writing it’s been just a little over 24 hours and no irritation. This stuff is definitely a winner. Gents with sensitive skin should definitely give this one a try

In my experience Cremo has done the impossible... made a very slick shave cream that doesn't protect very well. Using the same technique as I do with Stirling Soaps, I get a lot more weepers. It's still better than using canned cream though.

I wasnt saying you shouldn't, I was impressed with how well you got the cremo to lather. A similar product to this that I think is worth trying is the Duke Cannon Superior Grade Shaving Cream. It can be used with a brush, although the lather breaks down very quickly. It leaves enough so that you can see where you’re going. You’ll still get an amazing shave with it, and an added bonus is that it is so moisturizing that you might be able to skip using aftershave (Duke Cannon also makes an aftershave very similar to Cremo’s- I prefer the smell of the Duke Cannon). The only downsides are that it’s more expensive, and it only comes in one scent. But it was tested by active duty military personnel, so if it’s good enough for them, it should be good enough for anyone!

Well jeez, I've been using much TOO much product when I've shaved with Cremo. I guess I was expecting some kind of medium sized lathering instead of "slickness". I'm going to try it again. Same, I've been using it for about a month and have been using a brush/bowl to get a lather. I thought I must not be using enough product because it wasn't working extremely well for what I had in mind. Guess I was just using it wrong lol. You can get a lather with a brush, will just take a lot more than an almond sized dollop...can get a pretty decent one, but won't be anything like a Williams mug shave soap puck.

I bought a tube of original cremo off amazon for five dollars and something. I followed the directions on the tube and got a good shave. Next I tried it with a shaving brush. I actually got a rather excellent lather. I reccomend using a brush. I used an amount of cremo about the size of toothpaste on a brush. I can see how cremo is superior to shaving cans. You don't get all of the cream out of a can( It gets runny) Really if you follow the directions you don't need a lot of lather. Though lather helps you to see what you are doing. A brush is a good addition. I like cremo and the video. Thanks.

Got a Rockwell 6S and a brush kit and a couple of different creams: one from Rockwell, the other from Viking. Used to use: Harry's blade, Cremo Shaving Cream. After a month of practicing with the new setup, this morning I tried my first full shave with the Cremo cream. Holy. Smooth. Balls. Well, holy smooth face. Not ready to try manscaping with the Rockwell yet. Best shave I've had so far. The biggest difference is that the Cremo stuff leaves my face feeling slick and smooth during each pass in ways that the other creams haven't. Tomorrow I'll try using a brush to lather up the Cremo and see what comes of it.

I had way too much water on my brush. My brush is also a cheap van der hagen from like 2011. So it SUCKS, but it lathered! Very oddly, but it lathered enough. I would use it on a brush.. just to use it on a brush... The brush is gonna lift ur hair and get the cream closer to the skin.. and ya, i THOUGHT. first pass. Down on the face. Up on the neck. And i personally, use a gillette 5x. After i shave everything. To get the under nose, an all around the lips. Also, i use a GENEROUS amount of pre shave oil. To really prevent cuts and razor burn

Put it like this, experience is the BEST teacher. Trial an error. And the first time i used a safety razor. I did not use the pre shave oil (goes on b4 the cream, after u get ur hair warm an soft) and i didn't own any good specific post shave lotion. And my face burned like crazy. The oil makes that non existent. And no cuts, i personally didn't get cuts that first time, but i did get hella razor burn.

What a coincidence, bought that same tube today, I’ve been using Barbasol forever and I thought it was a lather too

You’d never know unless you read the fine print on the back. It actually worked better for me when I lathered it with a brush!

I hate a dry lather ! 😊 got some of this stuff from Wally World and it’s not that great in my opinion . The best stuff I’ve squeeze out of a tube is Poraso

Recently bought Cremo, the original scent like two weeks ago. Still trying to figure out the best way to use it, but now I'm curious to try it with a brush!

An almond sized dollop applied directly to wet skin but if you'd rather use a shave brush, that seems to work too.

I like the feel of Cremo Cooling, but not the invisibility or zero lather. Also, Cremo always stays in my razor. Maybe it's like shaving with Crisco? (I may try that.) Good to see you can get some lather out of the stuff.

It does get stuck in the razor, doesn’t it?

I can't wait for the Kennedy shave! I am obsessed with the Kennedys, have you seen the CNN documentary The Kennedy's American family dynasty? It is a very good documentary series, also the Netflix documentary series on Bobby Kennedy?

I’ve seen some of the Kennedy family doc, but am saving the Bobby Kennedy doc for the right time. I also love and am fascinated by the Kennedys. I studied the JFK assassination for years. A truly tragic and fascinating family.

Amazing, (and sickening), how 'they' achieved their goal of assassinating not only JFK but also RFK, MLK and Malcolm X. Each of those assassinations are still being covered up to this day.

Also another fact that is kind of JFK oriented is that my first safety razor was from 1963 it is a gillette slim adjustable, so it is as old as the JFK assassination which was a traffic event in our history.

Fatboy, Slim adjustable, and black beauty, all of them just stay on 9 for me. It plows through the growth, and even on a single day growth, it does a bbs 2 pass shave.

i dont think im diggin cremo personally after a couple shaves , I think they have more of a good marketing team than a good product. I think its a decent product but i dont think its premium at all . Cremo seems priced right for the product though , so it makes sense ! Just dont think its premium stuff guys ! If you want premium shave cream id probably try a Bevel or a Taylors

Dude, follow the diections. 30 seconds with hot, hot water is key. Less is more with the cream. Add just a tad more water if you need more slickness. If you feel you need one more pass, rub the remaining cream(it's there even if you can't see it) back in, and just a little more hot water.

Oh, I always need more than one pass.

Cremo works better with a brush & bowl, even though that's not the "right" way to do it.
