Probably the most mishaps we have had in our travels so far, all happen in this video :/ but we got through it and learned from it!
Here's what happens in the video, we start off excitedly hoping to get the BEST toastie in Australia... then we cruise onto Cable Beach for our first beach swim in months after travelling the Red Centre of Australia and oh boy is it beautiful there.
After taking some photo memories... (as its the first time we have driven the bus onto the beach) we continue to Coconut Well.
Coconut Well is a rare gem of a place with hundreds and hundreds of turquoise rockpools to explore during a big 9m high tide.
However...
On our way in we get bogged on a sandy corner and have a rough time trying to get back out.
We explain later the problems we experience which includes being centimetres from being crashed into by a passing quad bike and being unable to let down all six tyres on our bus.
Everyone is ok and unharmed just a little shaken and covered in sand from the quad bike coming to a sudden halt. However, after this experience it takes us a little while to get over the initial shock of it all.
We finish off being enjoying the lovely rockpools Coconut Well have to offer. After sunset we switched off the cameras and just enjoyed the natural beauty of the place only leaving well after dark after dinner in our bus and a great evening spent in the rockpools!
So we leave after dark, you'll have to watch the video to find out if we get bogged again on our way out or not! :)
Tips for travelling Cable Beach, Broome and Coconut Wells:
Broome:
Check out the worlds oldest picture theatre while here.
Broome has great nightlife, shops, cafes and restaurants to check out too!
Don't miss Good Cartel, GREAT coffee spot, it's licensed too.
There is so much to do around Broome - next week we hit James Price Point and Gantheaume Point which are a must see!
Cable Beach:
Drive onto the beach but WATCH the tides and check them before going. MUST have a 4wd there's a rocky section to get in.
Consider a camel ride or just enjoy watching the camels go by. Bring a picnic, watch a sunset and there's some great bars and restaurants just at the back of Cable Beach too.
Coconut Well:
Watch and plan your visit, the tide needs to be a 9m tide or the pools won't have water in them. Scope out the best rockpools by taking a walk and scouting them out. Look inside the rockpools there is loads of little marine life ecosystems going on!
You can't camp at Coconut Well but there are some free camps just outside of Broome.
As always thanks for watching our video!
