I saw him live at a local fair in Canada and most of the crowd had no clue who he was. No one was getting into it and he say “well if you guys aren’t going to have fun I will” walked off stage and came back out with a 40 of jack and just started drinking. He really pulled the crowd in after that. It was a blast after that.

I don't know much about Kip, but after watching this, he genuinely seems like a great guy and I think being an independent artist would suit him better. He could do whatever he wanted and wouldn't have to deal with all that label bull crap. He seems like a guy that is definitely in this more for the music, not the fame and money. Congrats on the interview, Grady!

I gotta be honest, during peak "bro-country" radio, I turned off a bunch of artists who wrote those type of songs. Kip Moore was one of them. Did I listen to his records? no. I moved off of radio and made my own playlists without any of those "bro country" artists. I'm so glad I watched this. I am now ashamed of how I totally typed him into a mold without giving him a chance. I'm off to listen to Wild Ones now

As If I couldn't love Kip Moore any more than I already do, this increased my respect for him even more! For what it's worth, "Dirt Road" is my favorite song of his. Typical of Kip, the song may seem like a cliche bro song, based on the title at least, but it's actually very personal and thoughtful.

@@jmit3491 I kind of agree because "Something about a truck" is kind of bro stuff but only what came to lyrics an still its really good song, not every song need to be so deep and soulful. It's better to have more diversity on songs. that way its more fun. but for that second part, there is no song from him that I am skipping when listenin' to his albums so yeah there is no "bad songs". The quality in overall is great!

Many of these Nashville mainstream singers seem like they would put out some great music if that was the type of music Nashville was behind, but you know they want to make money for themselves and I can respect that. Not everybody is prepared to go on the possible 5+ year grind most independent country artists have to go on before they make decent money, especially with the possibility of not finding success looking over your head. Wish Nashville would change their direction, we would have a lot more quality music.

This is really one of the best interviews I have ever seen with an artist. The way you approached this worked incredibly well. I was guilty of writing Kip Moore off as a bro country artist because of that first single. It is sad that one single can give the wrong impression of who someone is as an artist. Not all that long ago an artist had almost no control over anything but their live show, the internet was not in every home, and where it was there was only dial up, so there was no social media. Even CMT wasn't in many homes across America. Something as simple as watching a video of an artist having a down to Earth conversation does so much to get the people on their side when they are the real deal like Kip is. I know I'm not alone in saying that I became a fan of Kip and and a bigger one of you after watching this.

I saw Kip a couple of months back in Glasgow, Scotland. I was surprised the whole band was there and there were a few acoustic songs at the end. The bulk of the night, while still amazing was Wild Ones tracks. I love Kips acoustic songs and was a little disappointed. Maybe his management told him it wouldn't work in the UK, who knows. But it was interesting to hear him say people doubted the acoustic tour. There's few artists can have you rocking to one song and crying to the next. Can't wait for the new album.

I grew up listening to country music in the 90s. Leann Rimes’s Blue was my first cassette. I moved to other genres for a long time but I’m starting to come back. Watching a bunch of your videos about the industry, it seems like country radio controls what we hear, more than any other genre does. Pop, Hip-Hop, rap, and rock have all had acts that have succeeded purely by internet popularity, so why is radio still so powerful? Country seems to have the strongest “gatekeepers” in the entire music industry.

The show was amazing and Tucker Beathard opened. I really enjoyed the way he blended talking with the audience and his music. We walked away knowing more about Kip and really feeling a connection. I've since listened to all his music and it really is a fun journey. I do appreciate artists that allow there music to grow and evolve with them and where life takes them. And yes I hate scalpers too!! They really mess up alot of shows for good, honest hard working people that just love life and live music.

Its been a year since this one so now I gotta go thru Grady's complete list- which I'm trying to get done anyway. Kip was a very interesting guest- I admit Idk much of his music, (only came back to listening to country music recently due to personal issues) and guess I'll also be picked on because I loveeee his song "Somethin About A Truck"!! Dont get why everyone hates it so much but to each their own! I was shocked though to find out Kip's a surfer! An outdoorsy guy, absolutely, even the rock climbing I can ecjve see... But surfer? That just made him even sexier!! So now have to excuse me while I listen to Somethin Bout A Truck & Google any Kip Moore surfing videos!! Lol PS- HAVE to add one point about this video- while it seemed intimate & cozy, just there talking all things Kip, music, outdoor sports etc-- thrte was never a moment of BROMANCE!!! Just had to make sure for peeps watching this video what to expect and what NOT to expect!! Lmao 😛🙃😉😂

I grew up on Rock, Hip Hop, and Country music. Now that I write mostly Country Rock, for whatever reason it is frowned upon in country music. WHY? The end listener is the fans, not the label company. Write what feels right Kip. You are on the right track. Love the music!
