A very good introduction video. I agree 100% with you about MDF. Even using hand/power tools with it, I'll only use it if there is absolutely no other option. You probably know, but one of the worst things to laser cut is anything with layers glued with cyanoacrylate (superglue), as it gives off cyanide gas! :-0 Loved the Tribble at the bottom of the screen ;-)

Cheers Andrew, Ya when it comes to power tools. It's unreal the amount of dust you get with MDF. Oh my.... I knew that cutting kevlar with a CO2 laser produces cyanide but had no idea about CA-glue. Thanks for the heads up. I have my rule of never putting anything into a laser that I don't know the full composition of or that I know is practically chemically inert. In regards to the tribble, I know it's getting old and really wants me to feed enjoy life and eat more. But it knows the rules.. I must not overfeed it again. Took days to find them all. 😂

I appreciate your comments about the fumes and potential for fires. Instead of air assist, could you use an inert gas such as argon, helium or CO2? These would limit any propogation of fire. All readily available from welding supply outlets. Interested in your thoughts. Thanks

Hey Peter, 100%, that is a great option if your production process can cover the cost of using it. I don't think helium would be a good mix as it's a little bit on the flammable side if things don't go your way.... But I have heard of using co2 and argon. I don't have much experience in this field tho as I personally have not used it but I have heard of it being used. No matter what where will still be combustion as this is how a laser works but it should mitigate the flame flame aspect of things.
