Greg, there are many good archery channels on KZitem BUT I have to tell you that yours is my favorite channel and in my opinion the best channel on YT. I got into archery in 2016 and watched many channels on YT and learned a lot from, including yours. I still watch other channels but I feel your is the best. The content and the way you explain is the best. I stopped doing archery for a few years just because of a broken finger and then when that healed I got busy and then archery became the last thought in my head but now I am getting into it again and now learning again and more and I also forgot a lot and now relearning things that are important. I have a 35 pound Bear Montana and other bows and a bunch of arrows but many broke so I need to buy more and now trying to figure out what to buy and what pound, so I have been watching your vids to learn what bows to buy. Thank you for the information.

I wish I had found this video 3 weeks ago when I started to research about archery. Very confusing watching archery vedeos without knowing what the dude is talking about. When they say "bare shaft", you have to bare shaft, but no one explains what that means. I thought it was the plain naked carbon, nothing else. I think "no fletching" would be a better term😸. Thanks for that, this video is amazing, there is no assumption that the audience already know this or that, everything is explained.

I find that some of the high performance recurves require a bit stiffer shaft.

Rather than saying "centre of gravity", I'd say "centre of mass." After all, it's the distribution/location of mass within the arrow that determines FOC. Gravity is a constant that acts on the mass.

Did a quick search and center of gravity seems to be the norm. I understand your point though.

Isn't that what is all about? the arrow? becoming the arrow... I think Byron Ferguson lives, teaches by that mantra.

Umm, no. Try focusing on the arrow without consistent form and see how that goes. I would also suggest you listen to what Byron said a little better. He never said to ignore the bow. When he speaks of becoming the arrow, he is referring to knowing what it will do, it’s trajectory.

@@TradArchery101 agreed, nor did I ;) But we are talking hardware between the bow and arrow... it really is the arrow.
@TradArchery101

@@graphguy I have to disagree. The bow is just as important. It is a symbiotic relationship. Bow - Arrow - Archer.

@TradArchery101 not disagreeing... but I bet you can shoot with a cheap, somewhat off bow with tuned quality arrows than take a $2000 bow and don't have tuned arrows and elcheapo ones.

@@graphguy And why would I be able to do that? Because I have a repeatable form. Take an archer who does not have a repeatable form and the result will be different. If you don’t have good form, then the bow and arrow no matter how expensive is not going to help. Without good form, you cannot tune your gear.
