Can we manipulate all those parameters trough blueprint? It would be amazing if we could do something like No Man's Sky in UE. Like instantiating procedurally those meshes with randomized values.

I'm a literal newbie with houdini, I have UE and Blender knowledge but 0 houdini, How did you open "Drop Actions" menu for "Relative Channel Reference" on 13:45 I just searched everywhere on google but can't find the shortcut.

A bit late, but for visibility sake. With UE5, you should place your Houdini Engine plug-in into your projects Plugin Folder. ie ../documents/unreal_projects/my_project/Plugins/Houdini_Engine/...."

I not sure if this is a right place to ask question; it seems the automatic instancer replaced everything connected to the "copy from" port. Take the tombstone as example, I can instance whatever I have in the Unreal project though, individual adjustment is disabled. How can I both instance tombstones and also be able to add cracks on them without really baking another one to instance?

Additionally, with multiple instancers, how did the random happen? You did not create any piece attribute so I am pretty sure that randomness would be literally "out of control". Is there alternative ways to make instancing "less convenient" but more controllable?

Is the free learning edition of Houdini good enough to get started with Unreal Engine, or do I need to purchase a license for the Indie version? I understand that the free version is for non commercial use only, and will upgrade to the Indie version when I am ready to publish my first game.

No, apprentice/free won't work at all with UE - you need the Indie version - you can load projects but you can not create sessions between the two. SideFX barly mention this anywhere.

@@mallubot7074 I’m pretty sure it’s put out by sidefx themselves! I mean you’re gonna be waiting until 2022 for ue51.0 and an official Houdini engine for it. Might as well use the one that works now, I can’t imagine there are any features missing you would need in the current version.

@@mallubot7074 ok, well use H19 engine then?? I don’t get it man, You’re asking for Houdini engine for UE5, there already is one! And it’s current, just not up to the daily builds. When H19 comes out, it will also have an engine version for UE5.

Man i went through several hours of a master class for Houdini and when i got to the part getting my tools into unreal i just figure this out. This license system its definetly misleading.
