You can tell if the fuel pump works. By having someone just turn the key to on and you stand next to the gas tank and listen for a hum. If it hums. It works. If it doesn't hum. Then it doesn't work.

Run them more often in order to keep fresh gas in the tank and the battery charged. It's a shame they just sit around

I grew up inside Ford Trucks and the Inline 6 Cyl, 300 is the best Work Horses ever, my father tried running Chevrolet Inline 6 Cyl, and the only thing it was good for, was a Tax Write Off, which will never make up for Business Relations, especially when a Customer is desperately looking for his Material, so the point i am trying to make is, FORD OL' MR. HENRY, YOU SCREWED UP, THAT IS LETTING WHOEVER HAVE THE POWER OF DECISION TO DO AWAY WITH THE 300 MEAN SIX PACK ATTACK! So now y'all go chop wood on them words of opinion! LOL! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Good job...I'm restoring a 71 cutlass...and remember the Carb catching fire trying to start it with the old engine when I first got it..lol...my fan blower on my 2000 xlt ranger for heat....needs a tap to get it started...I think it is going bad....just got my transmission rebuilt again....225 k on truck....67 on jasper engine....it runs good....but air bag light on and horn doesn't work ....clock spring? Never dealt with those

These year model trucks had dual fuel tanks and also dual fuel pumps. If one pump goes bad , swap tanks and you swap fuel pumps.

Get a code tester to check for faults. Get one that works on alot of cars and also does graphing. To dump straw out of the truck, put a board in the bed attached to a chain and drive a spike in the ground. Then drive forward and the board will slide out of the truck and fall on the ground. Then tilt it over and put it back in the truck and leave!

Get a Actron CP9690 code tester. It'll check the sensors and other systems. It checks live, record, emissions testing, transmission codes, oxygen sensors test, and MORE!

that is the way it was yesterday with me trying to fire up my 1980 f250 4x4 400 cubic engine, 6c automatic. 3 junk batteries and accelerator pump not working. so it would start and run on its own. started fine with jumper pack and squirting gas with a windex bottle!

Anytime you replace the distributor, get an oil pump primer shaft to prime the oil pump and to line-up the distributor shaft to the oil pump. Autozone has it. Get a Snap-on scanner and cartridges and manuals and adapters. Get the latest cartridges. Get the 120 volt adapter and battery pak to check test results away from the vehicle. OBD-II engines require the OBD-II adapter and personality key.
