Some transit style escalators in a department store right in the heart of Copenhagen's main shopping street. All escalators, except the two that go between the second the third floor, were originally made by Hamburg based Rheinstahl Eggers Kehrhahn (one of the spiritual predecessors of thyssenkrupp/TKE) in 1961. In 2017, they were modernized by a German company called Geyssel with new energy efficient motor, metallic balustrades (previously brass) and possibly steps.
The other two REK escalators that go between the second and third floor are still original. They were added on later in 1974 which explains why they have different design. Sadly one of them was turned off; there were two KONE technicians in this store shortly after I took this video which I presumed they were going to service it. This was my first time seeing a Rheinstahl Eggers Kehrhahn escalators, and I'm very glad to have seen one here in Denmark as unfortunately the famous ones in the nearby historic ILLUM department store have all been modernized into ThyssenKrupp Velino :(
