Good God blow money on some fancy paint but can't get the cart tipper right. But hey who cares because no FBI investigation. Let's hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Cool catch though. Love those front fenders.

They've already painted at least 1/3rd of the fleet. Unfortunately a lot of the trucks have some sort of issue. Most are just in need of some WD40. Thanks!

That cart tipper is going to make me half deaf. Pretty sharp looking in the new colors. What's with the bag over the lid at 4:48?

Same here! The resident put the bag on a recycle cart, they have green lids. An extra recycle cart is free, but a trash cart is $60, so some residents have some innovative solutions to get an extra trash cart.

I'm pleased to say that the City of Southgate has FINALLY received trash carts along with freshly painted GFL trucks (possibly newer model trucks too carried over from Canada) with the robotic arm on the right side to pick them up. The residents apparently had a choice between a 64-gallon or 96-gallon container. The carts themselves are your typical standard design with the "City of Southgate" logo stamped on it. Nice to see that residents there are finally caught up with other surrounding cities that have had trash carts for quite some time now.

What municipality is this? The first thing I noticed was the truck number (498). Apparently a truck from a former company that has been repainted with GFL colors. I'm in Toronto, Ontario and we have GFL in the west part of the city, except for Etobicoke. GFL, Inc. is a class act and they are doing a better job than the city solid waste collectors did before our part of the city was switched over to GFL. Once GFL "ironed out the rough edges" in the very beginning of their contract with the city, their service has been very good. Their yard waste collection with the rear packer trucks is second to none and a lot of fun to watch! I prefer their rear packer trucks and GFL has quite a fleet of them here in Toronto. All of their trucks here have 4-digit numbers. The rear packer trucks are typically 7700's, 7800's and 7900's. The side loaders are 8900's and 8100's. There is a large fleet of GFL Front Lift trucks here in Toronto that do commercial and apartment/condominium buildings and a large fleet of Roll-off trucks. GFL is quite an impressive operation here in 'Toronto and I'm sure you will have the same quality service with GFL where you are at.

This is in Taylor, Michigan. GFL went through a merger/ acusition with a local company, Rizzo Environmental Services, here in the Detroit area, and they have rebranded all the trucks and are repainting quite a few. GFL seems like a great company in Canada, and I can't wait to see what will happen in the years to come. So far, we have over 20 brand new tricks coming in in the next few weeks.

garbageproductions1 Hello again from Toronto Canada! Thanks for your reply. I saw something really interesting last Tuesday up here in T.O. regarding GFL. I was driving home and caught a glimpse on the highway of an apparently brand new GFL rear packer garbage truck that had a LEACH garbage body on a Peterbilt cab-forward chassis. I didn't know that LEACH rear packers were still being made. I love how those trucks look as well as how the LEACH rear packer motor sounds, depending on the truck chassis. The LEACH is really cool! I spoke to my friend who works for GFL and he told me that what I saw "was a new truck" and that GFL here in Toronto recently got 4 or 5 of the LEACH rear packers. He said that I won't see the LEACH trucks on my residential street as they are assigned with the older Apollo rear packer trucks to collect from apartment buildings, co-ops and condominiums. I have been interested in garbage trucks and waste collection all my life, beginning as a young child growing up in the City of Cincinnati, Ohio and I remember the LEACH rear packers from decades ago. That being said, I told my GFL friend that it would be really cool, nonetheless, to see one of those LEACH rear packers on my street doing the yard waste collection.

This was filmed in Taylor. This is indeed a former Rizzo Environmental Services truck. GFL seems like an outstanding company and I'm excited to see what they will do here in Detroit. Rizzo Environmental Services already had quite a large operation here, and since GFL took over, they're on the way to become a major force here in the states.

If GFL up here in Toronto is purchasing new LEACH rear loaders (packers), they might do the same down where you are at. If you happen to see a GFL LEACH truck in your travels, maybe you could get a video of it. That would be a great catch! I am unable to make videos at this time. Currently, the GFL rear packers I see in my residential area are either McNeilus (the 7700's or 7800's) or the newer HEIL trucks (the 7900's).

Wow! Emphasis on green in "Green For Life"! What's up with the cans getting stuck on the tipper? And at 3:45 they won't stay on, lol! Also, why is it so noisy?

The bottom latch on the tipper wouldn't detach. There it looks like the latch wouldn't come on! Probably needs some WD40.
