No one sees the tail block normally, but it's professional pride to know it's up to the standard of the visible bits..!

Just found your videos this morning. Really enjoying it so far! I‘ve already picked up a few ideas just seeing you do them. I‘m building my first guitar currently, so I enjoy seeing what other guitar builders do differently compared to the way I have learned so far. Also, the shop granddaughter part in the last video was hilarious! I will plan on finishing this series after work today. Cheers!

HI Chris, really enjoying this series and huge respect to you for your wonderful craftsmanship. I'm very interested in the jig that you're using to hold the body of the guitar rather than using a mould. I've not seen one before. Am I right in thinking that you can adjust the vertical posts to accommodate different body shapes? Did you make it?

Hi Ian (I’m guessing!) Yes, the holding jig is home-made, and pretty simple to do. The main thing to get right is to ensure the dowels are cut at exactly 90 degrees, so that they are perpendicular to the plane of the base and so hold the sides correctly. The jig accommodates pretty much any guitar shape, and I’ve made a smaller one for ukuleles.

There are tools I haven't seen before! And the approach is the very definition of 'painstaking'! Very skilfully done.

Thank you. The next video should be out at the weekend or early next week. I have a lot filmed, but the quality is very mixed, so editing takes a VERY long time!

Thanks a million! Electric guitars take a lot of skill to build properly as well though; don't sell yourself short!
