This weekend did not go to plan.
Saturday with LPR is not even worth posting about; I threw away my first two runs with massive car placement errors and spent the rest of the day in 100+ degree heat trying to unpack what went wrong.
Sunday with GGR went a bit better: I at least had a plan, executed that plan, and continued to improve in some key areas run by run. But a few issues have cropped up that need to be addressed. Among them, I'm not paying enough attention to the course design and changes made on site, which is especially tricky when you're the course designer with a preconceived notion of what to expect. Most importantly, I'm hitting far too many right-side cones. Both of these (and a few other tendencies) have impacted my performance all year and it took very stiff competition this weekend to highlight their importance.
On that note, it's worth highlighting that Drew crushed it both days. Super fast, super consistent. Our back-and-forth Sunday was especially fun.
This is a good run from the morning in which I hit a cone somewhere - presumably right side in the first slalom. Also one of three runs throughout the day that would have been enough if not for my imprecision.
Final result: top time of day, third in PAX - .003s away from second, .006s away from first (!!!).
I won't make the same mistakes next time out.
Only modification: Yokohama Advan A052 in OEM sizes
