What are you referring to by "chips?" Do you mean like on a colour chart? I don't see this in any shots, so I wasn't sure. Sorry for the basic question!

Hey hey That Bike Life! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! Correct, I'm referring to a video (not photo) color checker chart where the color chips will match the little vectorscope boxes. No worries! We're always learning! Thanks again for stopping by! Stay safe, healthy, and I’ll see you in the next one!

I bought new GH5 bro... i don't like to invest in Vlog now... HLG gives same dynamic range of Vlog... Upload a video about HLG colour grading...

You're better off investing in Vlog. HLG only benefits you if you're going to WATCH your footage with a television or monitor equipped to view HLG. Otherwise, shooting in HLG has no benefits. In fact, most HLG footage I've seen softens details in the objects in your shots, whereas Vlog captures more details. Here is a video from a pro film maker and his experience with HLG.: kzitem.info/news/bejne/jnmtl6unppuGgqg I recommend you subscribe to their channel.

Have you tried CinelikeD?

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for engaging with Guru Raj in the comments! In my earlier videos when I started under the new name TLDR... I filmed the videos in 10bit HLG, while it definitely seemed to give me a much more saturation to work with and a slightly different dynamic range curve. I ultimately went back to 8bit Natural color profile and chose to just use lights and modified them to control the exposure for the entire image so that I didn't have to do any color adjustments. Unfortunately I have not played with V-log as I don't have it in my GH5, however depending on what I imagine the final image to be, sometimes I will make judgment calls to use either Portrait, Cine-V, or Natural. Long story short, Guru Raj, now that you have the GH5 it's time to mess with it and then check youtube for settings you don't understand. Play with it, mess with it, and take that footage and put it into your editor to see what the image is doing. Many aspiring filmmakers gets caught up with settings and features of a camera, but they don't test it enough to truly become 100% intuitive with the camera for their visions. You want to be familiar with your camera like you are familiar with your body, you know when you're happy, sad, sick, well, tired, energetic and you know how to counter or heal any of those feelings, that's what you want this camera to be, an extension of your body and mind. Once you achieve this, you can film just about anything you want with this camera because you understand how to work it to bring you visions to life. Hope this helps! Thanks again everyone for engaging and helping this channels community! Truly appreciate you all!

Have you done a video about Cinelike D vs Vlog? I've seen in one video that Cinelike D, when tweaked correctly, improves dynamic range just like Vlog

I like CinelikeD a lot; I use it for projects where there is no grading, as it still offers a filmic look.

Hey hey you two! Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting and chatting! While I have not played with V-log, I shot my entire first movie with Cine-D [0, -5, -5, -2, -0] (Additional settings you can do when selecting color profiles) At the time (gh4) this was the most popular setting. While it had its quirks in terms of color accuracy with a custom white balance, it did squeeze out a little extra dynamic range. I do want to purchase V-log eventually now that the GH5 has the ability to Load Custom LUTS. I think that's going to cut down on my post production time immensely as I would prep and create my near final looks right there in camera. The day I finally get that V-log, I will definitely make a video on it once I've gotten enough time to play around with my idea and theories of how I would use it. Thanks again for stopping by and chatting you two!

Good manner, natural speech. Articulate. No sing-song rhythms, no slang, no ending with upward inflections like you're asking a question. A pleasure to watch. Great knowledge. I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers. I guess you'll have to put on a backwards hat, get some tattoos, and start saying "yo" every other word. I hereby subscribe.

Hey hey Rick! Thank you so much for checking out this video, commenting, and subscribing! I'm glad you enjoy the presentation of this channel, I try to do my best! Haha I am definitely a very plain dressed and spoken youtuber. I do have the kind of high energy for acting, but not when I am teaching. Teaching I prefer to be thoughtful and methodical, not hype. Hi, can you please do a quick video demonstrating how you’d go about experimenting with the color shift, and the vector scope. I’m a little unclear as to how to start with that process of comparing and locking in what the colors should look like. Your videos are great, btw
@TLDR_filmmaker

Greetings Deveren! Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting! I definitely will in the future as I begin doing a light series and how you can use the vectorscope to help. If you have the vectorscope option in your editor whether it be FCPX, Premiere, Resolve, load in one of your favorite movies or a picture of a scene from the movie, turn on the vectorscope and have a look. The scope will tell you how much of a certain color is in that scene and how lushious it is or how muted it is. As you start to understand color through the vectorscope you can begin grading or purposely filming your videos to match that kind of color pallete. In terms of introducing color shifts, the GH5 allows you to actually adjust a shift in colors in the white balance menu so that your white can be shifted to all sorts of hues. Another way I shift colors is purposely filming at the wrong color balance through the "Kelvin" white balance settings. I've done this to purposely make an area look warm or cold. These are just some ways to get you started, but I will definitely get to that subject eventually. So many things I want to put out on this channel to help filmmakers create their vision. Until then, thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you in the next one!

Hey hey TKO Media! Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting! You're most welcome! Glad this video was helpful! These scopes are definitely nice to use when you're in your video editor. Even if you're monitor is not too color accurate you can at least gauge what it will show up as if you have your color info pointing at the right markers. The most useful one is the Skin Tone line, I show how easily you can correct something in this video here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/uJ-owH2Xi5-QrIY This will give you an idea of how I am using the scopes in editing. Hope this further helps! Thanks again for stopping by! Stay safe, healthy, and I’ll see you in the next one!
