I have a Ghanaian colleague and he introduced me to jollof and waakye beef stew! Now, all I wanna do is listen to Afro Beats and eat tomato based dishes! Like honestly, eating African food makes me feel so connected to the root. I need to find out where my ancestors reside! ❤️

What I just watched was an amazing display of West African Aunty physical prowess in action. The superhuman strength and speed when they stirred the kokonte. The superhuman durability as the handled the hot pots and tomatoes in the fire. West African Aunty physical prowess is real. Btw the woman describing the cooking process is a cutie pie!

This is insightful. I didn't know you could eat Konkonte with pepper. I am only familiar with eating it with soup.......be it Palm nut, 🌴 peanut butter or okro soup.

The humble no frills dishes are also the most delicious and the healthiest, it’s disappointing that we are moving away from our traditional dishes to embrace the western over processed foods .

I appreciate all the knowledge shared! Im moving from USA to a small villiage in Mozambique in 3 months. I am so worried about cooking and sourcing food but at the same time it is what I am most excited for. This wonderdul family has definitely provided me with some ideas, yet I know I have an abundance to learn. I love how it is such a family affair to prep the food. My potato chip eating, American children are going to get to know how and where their food comes from real quick! 😅😘 What a wonderful time to share as a family. ❤

Konkonte goes well with okro soup , groundnut or okro soup prepared with good fish or meat . This is too dry and highly carbohydrate. Thanks for showing.
