I love Sam's parting words to Molly. "It's amazing. All the love inside. You take it with you." You really get the sense that not only will he be all right, but so will Molly. She'll learn to live again and one day they'll see each other.

THERE is the REAL foreshadowing: Molly and Sam are going to see 'The Scottish Play", the Shakespeare play that's such bad luck no sensible actor ever uses its name... Subway Guy is presented as one of those crazy homeless guys that end up camping in subways. Before he could sort himself out (if he had the capacity or opportunity to sort himself out), he got pushed off the platform and run over by one of the trains. It's actually quite possible he was a paranoid schizophrenic or bipolar; it's a stereotype of New York City to see them in the subways. Interestingly, Patrick Swayze and Vincent Schiavelli (the Subway Guy) have passed away since this film. RIP guys.

Excellent choice Tara, this is such a Powerful movie...always makes us feel it, and always makes us wonder (what happens after)!! Have always been a Fan of Patrick Swayze, and I miss Him so much...💔 I know that Dirty Dancing is on Your List, and hopefully "Road House" is too...I would also Recommend "Father Hood" and "Black Dog" (2 of My Personal Favorites)!! Oh...and since E.D. brought up "The Fast and the Furious" ...I would More Than Love for You to experience those Movies for Yourself, and get to know "The Family" that they have become! But...I'm sure that there are many other movies you'd rather watch first, and...to quote a very wise man, whom I've always admired: "I got nothing but time!" 😉 On the other hand, Your Sister has already Reacted to the first 3 Movies...and Jen has Loved every minute of them so far!!!

Excellent reaction Tara! It's always fun to see people react to this one for the first time. It's such a good film that successfully blends lots of different genres from crime to thriller to comedy to supernatural and, of course, romance. Not many movies can pull that off but this one did, and the acting was great on top of it all.

A little fun fact, I don't know of anyone's mentioned this, but this movie was directed by one of the guys who directed airplane, top secret and the naked gun movies....Jerry Zucker. Who would have thought that he would make such a beautiful, emotional movie. If you watch the second naked gun movie, they do parody that clay making scene.... It's pretty funny.

Without diving too deeply into existential and religious beliefs, I’d say that in the version of the world that this story is set in, there are two clear outcomes of death (besides remaining a ghost long-term); a beautiful light in the sky, and a terrifying darkness below the ground… Clearly resembling something similar to the ideas of Heaven and Hell.. So I’m Guessing Willie and Carl are in the Hell one hahah

Maybe. But I don’t think so. I think he hired Willy to get hold of Sam’s wallet - which would have been a harmless (non-violent) mugging if Sam hadn’t escalated it. Carl has no intention to harm Sam or Molly. Sam’s death was an accident that left Carl in a position where we felt he had no choice than to get Willy to burgle the apartment. Carl was a money launderer, yes, who used his best friend as a pawn in the laundering, but then things got out of control. Sam’s Revenge plan was.... cold. And the way he persuaded Molly to go out with him isn’t so romantic when viewed through a 21st century prism. Odd criteria. Anyway, like an internet idiot I’m overthinking a fun movie that has rightly become a classic. Glad you enjoyed it!
