I like how he doesn’t throw instructions at us, but just causally mentioned them. This was so informative and relaxing to watch. New subs!

This was so helpful, thank you! I got my ghost plants a couple summers back and haven't done anything other than sticking the fallen leaves that have grown roots back into the pot to make baby plants. The original plants are suuuper long and only have leaves at the very end of their stems. This will make such a difference in my little windowsill pot!

This video is just lovely. I admire all of the work you put into making it so beautiful. It is unexpectedly calming. Stunning videography, I especially liked the close-up shot of watering them at 3:53. Enthusiastically subscribed!

Give it a Grow , You’re welcome . Do you ever have issues with bottom leaves getting mushy and falling off on your cuttings even if you don’t water ? I got one imported from Korea. It arrived plump and gorgeous. But it started losing leaves the very next day . They’re going way faster than most non rooted succulents I’ve dealt with .

I was wandering around KZitem and your video popped up as "recommended". First of all, thank you for speaking loud enough to hear over your music. Sometimes, with the desire to create a specific mood with their background music, some content creators forget that it can be a distraction. But, your choice of music and your volume were perfect for creating a relaxing tone. And, your video was well put-together -- from the opening wide-angle shots to the close-ups around 4:00 minutes and from the lighting to the information/tips you gave regarding starting your cuttings. Your explanations went really well with what you were doing in the video. Great job!! Now, I don't mean to rain on your parade because I'm guessing that you were probably simply going by the ID that the plant originally came with. But, your plant actually looks to be Sedum clavatum (common name: "Tiscalatengo Gorge Sedum") and not Graptopetalum paraguayense (common name: "Ghost Plant"). Sometimes plant labels can accidentally get switched at the nursery or even at the grower's facility. I've included a link for each plant below to support my position. Please know that I offer this info with no ill will nor any remote inkling of condescension. I offer it with all due respect. I just want to provide some more accurate info for you and your viewers. Here are two links so that you could compare your plant with the two I mentioned above... www.smgrowers.com/products/plants/plantimage.asp?plant_id=3809 mountaincrestgardens.com/graptopetalum-paraguayense-ghost-plant-mother-of-pearl-plant/

Wow, thank you! I think you are right about the Sedum clavatum! The rounded leaves give it away, thanks for the correction. I will be sure to correct the name in the description, but its too late for the title of this video :/ Luckily these techniques work on virtually any succulent, weather its a sedum or ghost plant.

Yes!! I was about to say the same thing! I think they are sedum clavatum. Ghost plants look more star shaped and have an opal color to them. Loved this video! It's very calming to watch you work on the plants. Thanks so much!!

Hi, just found your videos and they are great. I am new to succulents and have a love hate relationship with them....I love them and they seem to hate me! Can't seem to get to grips with seasons and watering but I keep trying. Still getting frost here in uk.

I hope my videos can help you, succulents can be a little tricky. They love to be warm, in lots of sun, and like the soil to dry out completely before the next watering. Check out this video for info on watering kzitem.info/news/bejne/0qyHsm1pe4iVlqg

I have a small ghost plant which looked lovely when I received it, but it immediately started dying with yellowing leaves from the bottom up (was not even watering much and even cut back to none). I removed it and cut the top off but then stem won’t grow roots and I’ve even lost more leaves the same way!! Help please? Should I cut the stem again and have it re-callous over to try to grow roots?
@GiveitaGrow
5 жыл бұрын
I would not cut the stem anymore, just try to give it sun and hope for the best. Sometimes succulents just die, weather its overwatering once, underwatering once, fungus gnats or whatever,. It was probably nothing you did, I lost many newly purchased plants for seemingly no reason.

I have a succulent which looks very similar to the sedum you show in this video. I‘m a total beginner, my plant looks very sick unfortunately and I have no idea what i did wrong. It has black spots on the leaves and some turned brown an shriveled. Did i overwater them? I’ve put them in new mineral soil but no help. :-( my other succulents look good though.
@GiveitaGrow

Let the soil completely dry out before watering again, then soak them in water to make sure they drink up. Plenty of light is important, but sometimes plants just die anyways so dont feel too bad if you loose one here and there,

November 1st but temps are still in the high 70's - mid 80's in Northern CA. Should I wait until next spring and early fall to prune and propagate or since our temperatures are still mild, give it a try?
@GiveitaGrow

I would say go for it, the new growth may be a little slower than summer, but I propagate succulents indoors all winter and they always root. Good luck!

I use a flood/dry cycle. Always letting the soil dry out before water again, then really soaking them for hours. I think this video I made covers it pretty well. kzitem.info/news/bejne/1Htv2mhumn14gYY

hi there i need help my ghost plant seems to be dying if i water them the leaves starts falling out like they are overwatered so i reduce the water by spray bottle and now the leaves are shedding . i dont know what to do. 😢😢😢😢😢😭😭😭
@GiveitaGrow

I never water plants with a spray bottle, instead, let them dry out completely then soak the soil heavily. That flood and dry cycle is healthy for them, so if your soil is still wet, put them in the sun and allow them to dry for a week or so. I hope that helps, good luck!

I usually wipe them away by hand, but there are pesticide sprays that work well to coat the leaves (I just prefer not to use pesticides if i can help it).
