I came from a game where ghost notes essentially meant that you missed the notes because of something like lag or the game dropping your inputs, so it’s interesting to know this definition!

sometime a chart was "under-chartted" i usually ghost tap since i love the feeling when i can hear "hit sounds" sync with the beat of a song, that's also one of the most important reason why i play rhythm game in the first place, and yes it does helps a lot to feel the rhythm of the song, so great technique 👍

Ghost tapping is something I started doing naturally as a consequence of learning to play the music on my flute - where I often tap my heel to keep the beat, so now when I play a track I can actually play I ghost tap whenever one hand isn't doing something. Additionally, having learnt to play some of the songs on my flute has definitely improved my ability to play the tracks because I've tuned my ear to hear more of the notes - and especially differentiating which beats are part of the melody or not

a simpler way to explain why this works is because ur basically turning ur other hand into a metronome which counts the bpm of a song and that in turn helps u with tapping a note to the beat more accurately tldr blah blah blah music theory

I really just vibe to the music in anyway I can to keep the rhythm. Ghost tapping yes, but maybe even bobbing my head/body to the rhythm… Rhythm games aren’t solely based on timing, really. It’s so much easier to hit a pattern of notes if you know the beat, which is obvious but powerful. It’s what helps me sightread new charts so well.

I still find it hard to use ghost taps because when I do, I lose my rhythm... I solely rely on vision, the sound of notes when I first play the song or from a gameplay, and muscle memory to play a song. I only use it to see if the song isn't finished. Maybe when master the game a little more, maybe I could master the ghost tap too QwQ

once you get into harder charts rarely would you see ghost tapping being used as the song is simply so dense all the way and if there is a break section your likely to not ghost tap to save energy but it is useful for less dense charts that only have 8ths/slow bpm 16ths

Honestly I didn’t know that ghost taps had a purpose I know I’ve seen people do it and I always wondered why and now it makes sense, I’m a band kid so I’m used to like tapping my foot and counting to 4 multiple times so this doesn’t seem any different but it’s funny because some songs I have tried to count 1,2,3,4 over and over to try to keep time but this seems like a better method it’s like a metronome and you don’t have to think as much

before this video i thought that ghost taps tactic doesn't exit. I, sometimes, use ghost taps on the beginning of the song when there are bunch of long hold notes. I think it adds, like, a detail to the song (especially if you tap on the beat). Mostly im relying on my reaction and memory, but on every long pause i will tap on screen few times so i can be sure if it's the fake end or if it's the real one

I use ghost taps basically all time time if I ever am just trying to AP low difficulty songs. I think a vast majority of songs on easy difficulty are just one constant slow ghost tap all the way through. I feel its the reason some people can get an AP on something like expert but not on easy or medium, just the lack of constant notes to maintain the BPM makes it hard to just jump in sparse notes on easy.
