BlueKronos Yea man I remember I was playing with a guy killing mobs on the Dead Scar and he was like: Umm, big fat guy ahead... It was very close and when I saw that huge abomination I was like in shock.... I was looking for a place to run as fast as possible. The one that scared me I think it was Luzran... Shortly after I saw his brother Knucklerot as well. Then after 5 more lvls I was solo-ing them... My friend moved to another area but I was chillin' in Ghostlands... I think I loved that place. The music also. Actually the undead tavern theme and ghostlands theme are some I like the most. I also love the theme in Auberdine.

Played as a Blood Elf Mage many, many years ago when the Blood Elf first became a new race to play and continued to be my "main" for most of the expansions. I will never forget finding Sylvanas Windrunner's pendant necklace near her former home of Windrunner Spire in the Ghostlands. Given to her by her sister Alleria long ago, and the beautiful lament song that played when I brought it to Sylvanas in the Undercity, reminding her of the life she could no longer live as a High Elf after Arthas had defeated and then changed her forever into the Banshee Queen. I think it even brought a tear to my eye upon hearing it after playing Warcraft 3, and knowing already what had happened to her. You could feel the sadness and loss in the music while venturing through this zone and could tell that this was once a beautiful place before the Scourge defiled it. I miss those days when the game was still new and fresh and before they changed so much of the original (vanilla) game design. Listening to your zone music is like a trip down memory lane both in sound and visuals you added. Thank you.

I have been watching and listening to a lot of your videos while working but I have to say that nostalgia hits way harder on this one. I started WoW back in 2007 as a blood elf and stopped playing around 2013 when the private server was shut down. I never played WoW after that and just kept so many memories from BC and WotLK. I remember at first playing as a "tramp" exploring the regions, cities and forests without doing any quests. Some players used to give me money just like that because of my looks and low level. I remember taking the boat to Kalimdor for the first time and feeling so lost. Then I started again and played quests after quests. I loved the Ghostlands and the Eversong Woods above anything else, for its music, its environment, and its kind of isolation from the rest of the "world". I used to go back there until I was level 80 with the "explorer" title. Thank you so much, I have been waiting for this video since I discovered your channel. It's a bit sad though to remember all this time playing WoW. It's like a wonderful place that you used to visit and that you don't want to forget.

Okay, but how many of you Noons ended up running through the portal into Eastern Plaguelands and got ganked/mobbed immediately? "The Ghostlands" is the region that made me *Fall in Love* with WoW. I had started playing (along side my cousin) right after TBC released and rolled a BELF Rogue Sub/Com. Eversong Woods was a good time but i could feel that i was in for a very long journey. That transition amongst the Death Scar from the last Elven Outpost to Ghostlands is certaintly haunting. You see the life, Color, Light and Atmosphere drain into a quietly dimmed scale of blue & grey with death seared into every inch of this region only to be accompanied by a sad yet comforting twilight of dusk. It wasn't Death-Holme or the Abominations that stood out to me. It was the surprise of the Night Elf Syndicate roaming the region. So foreign to everything i had encounter before. It was the chance of finding Sylvana's necklace while not even knowing who she was or how important of a figure she'd become. It was the idiotic assumption that i need to travel through the portal into EPL to *reach* Undercity only to be conpletely terrorized and mauled by undead crestures so much higher in LVL that their avatars scale said "?". Once i figured out i was exalter in Ghostlands and it was time for me to make my way back to Silvermoon so that i mah enter UC. I enter SVM for the firsy time and was completely BLOWNED aeay. Suddenly, the scale of the challenges from the Starting area to Eversong Woods to Ghostlands to even the Plaguelands were drawfed. The comprehension. That a war so big and so destructive has and is taking place felt truer than ever. Then, i made my way to UC. I was mesmerized by its beauty and death. Hesring Sylvanas sing her song and share her grief moved me. It was then i made it a goal to level up such as so i can make my way to the Plaguelands and uncover the secrets and wounds that lead all the way up to Silvermoon. Oh, how my silly ass did not know what was waiting for me in Outlands.. WoW as an entirety use to be the greatest game iv ever played and seen. But those first two rolls with my BELF Rogue/Paladin were some of the best gaming experiences iv ever had. I remember strolling through Eversong like it was yesterday but i remember the near essential addiction i had to fulfilling every single quest in Ghostlands. Then purposely making my way to the plaguelands theough Ghostlands as a geared Level 70 just for an egotistical "Im Back".

I loved the Ghostlands They were sad... yet beautiful. I liked the story too, although i don't even remember it too much. There was something with tricked elves... into a betrayed existence But what i loved was the contrast of ... the nice and safe Eversong Woods (where the capital is practically around the block and guards and an army would crush any bigger enemy in an instant) and into a dark and cold.. and hopeless land.. where one can see the consequence of war and destruction first handedly My heart mourned the loss of so many blood elves, not knowing their name or history but still feeling sadness for their loss Ive felt the world a lesser place for their loss, even though it was just a computer game, even though there may be no blood elves - i felt sad for them That alone tells me, what masterpiece blizzard has.. or had(?) at their hands Ive loved to wander around Silvermoon, just for the music. Or the impressions. To participate in an mysterious world of magic and secrets and knowledge long forgotten by any human (or orc... or dwarf...undead.. night elf... or.. you name it) If i could choose one place of World of Warcraft, where i wanted to live, it would be around Silvermoon, for sure The reddish scene is.. friendly to my eye Usually its an aggressive color and i dont like it too much, but in such a scenario.. it attracts me. It stands for so much.. aggression, blood, fury.. but also compassion and love and a fire that wont deplete anytime soon - its pure and basic So are the blood elves - pure The only higher race in all WoW - in my humble opinion.. but yeah.. that may be just my personal blood elf pride :o) There is so much more to say and tell.. but sometimes certain things better remain unsaid and burried deep in the heart

Going back to classic wow, I visited north of eastern plaguelands and found the sealed off tunnel that sealed off the rest of the Eastern Kingdoms from the ghostlands. Although everyone already knew where that tunnel would later lead, I couldn't help fooling myself into thinking I was the only one who knew. Classic WoW felt like time-travel. Before the min-maxers took over, every ex wow player around the world seemed to step back in time and enjoy the game almost as much as they had done in the past. More often than not I specifically avoid using footage with players in it. Sometimes someone sits there for an entire sequence, sometimes someone run towards me and jump in front of me (obviously you can't tell whether or not someone is recording, just a regular WoW gesture I guess), sometimes it's something normal like people questing and stuff but they ride those hideous chopper mounts or something else that ruins the "feel" or the theme of a video. I'd rather have an empty panorama than a distracting one. To add to this, I used to use a program that could change the time of day, along with lighting and music and so on. So I was recording mostly at night when there were fewer people in general. And in this particular example it's just a not very popular zone. Especially considering the fact that so many players, even without heirloom items, outlevel it in less than an hour and go to other parts of the world.
@deficineirondeficineiron5306
7 жыл бұрын
thanks. i had forgotten how ostentatious live wow mounts had gotten, you are certainly right. I was idyllically imagining lowbies innocently questing on foot in the traditional manner, etc. now that I think of it, it seems likely any human activity would impede the feel of a zone (maybe unless at near-max-distance)
@Everness1
7 жыл бұрын
+deficineiron deficineiron there’s still a lot of it everywhere, especially on RP servers (and I record almost everything on one). It’s just that it takes only one player spamming toys to ruin the scene. It’s not always bad though. As an example, about one minute into the video you see a player running on a spectral moose, a Legion mount. And yet it looks suitable enough for the zone, so I used that take anyway.

My first "reaL' toon was in TBC, I played vanilla but never really did much. I created a belf pally in TBC, and to this day I will remember the feeling of crossing over, exploring the troll catacombs, the Nerubian swarmed villages. How the zone slowly etched you towards the "Traitor's destruction" questilne. It felt so natural, so organic..... I remember geting Tranquillien rep for the blue cloak, getting the rare sword at the end.... And for the only time playing WoW i really felt like I was sent out into the world. Equiped and ready to take it on as a champion of my people.... Probably the best structured, and my favorite zone in terms of aesthetics. We need more belf lore game.... come on now.... Today Well I play every race and class, and OFC I have seen the "Light" and no longer main a paladin... :D

Omg the second I heard this at 6:05 I remembered my first play through as my BE paladin going into Deatholme for a quest. I was like 11 or 12 and I just wanted to finish the quest immediately lol. Died like 5 times in there too

I was only about 5 when I started playing wow. Being a little girl, I was really afraid of being in Ghostlands.

Thank you! Been waiting for this one. Blood elf music is by far my favorite of all the beautiful soundtracks out there. I question myself daily whether I should find some private server of sorts and rekindle my love for this game, but I just can't figure out if it's worth it. At the end of the day, I have seen and done it all already, even though I joined late and missed a lot of content at its "prime time". I don't know which patch I'd want to relive, if I decided to do it, either. All I know is I miss my blood elf rogue and stabbing people in the back. T_T If anyone has any advice for me feel free to comment below, if not, well keep your wits about you. ^_^

Same here. Quit the game almost six years ago after having been obsessively addicted for more than five years. A lot of the things I could have accomplished in the time are lost to time. I dropped out of school only a few years later because of depression and am still in the loop trying to get into the school mentality so I can better my grades and get into university so that I can study physics as I always thought I would. Yet I still haven't entirely come to terms with my departing from WoW. It's a great game. I feel like I could go back any time. But perhaps it's better this way. It was never meant to be. Get together with people who share your past. Build your own universe. Don't let World of Warcraft obscure what could be inside your own mind.

Damn, did not expect to read something this deep here. As they say, "Bring your friends to Azeroth, but don't forget to go outside with them as well"

I played on some of the private servers. The blizz like ones are honestly great, at least the one I played was magnificent. I played with a friend who had never played wow but always wanted to, and it was very nostalgic. However, I also recieved a letter from my internet company saying they had logged my laptop playing World of Warcraft from an unverified source. They did not press charges but the letter said they could fine up to 70k. Scare tactic or not, I wasn't going to mess with numbers like that. It makes me sad though, that wotlk server was loads of fun and the game was, in my opinion, a lot more fun in wotlk than it is now.

"Argentina and Portugal are in fact two different countries." What does it mean? What does it mean?? Is it a test? Yes, there are people who actually read the lore text and the playlist ^^

Just found all your videos. Lovely stuff! I've been playing on 2 private servers, one vanilla and one WOTLK. Retail let me down. Now I can listen to these at work or when writing! Thanks! (yes, just posted and deleted other comment since i was logged in as the real me at work! lol)
