We're all just guessing at this point, but this is how I view Lindor's big hit and the emotions he showed: It looked like a combination of relief in combination with the "job's not done" mentality. After the game he cried, and I also saw him smile at different points during the broadcast while playing the field. I think what we're getting from him is a wide range of emotions cause he can feel how bad the team and the fans want this.

As a Dodgers fan, the last couple of years have been all about how they’re not built for the postseason because the starting pitching is thin and that Mookie and Freddie don’t have that dog in them like Harper does. Well the Phillies seem to be built exactly for the postseason and they didn’t make it happen. October baseball is just chaos. Teams can get hot and superior teams can be beaten in a short series.

Padres are a great team, but last night was a big for the Dodgers to shutout the Padres. The momentum is with the Dodgers because of that. I think the Padres will be hungry to score and I think it will be important for LA to shut them down the first time through the lineup. Dodgers have to carry the hot bats against a great starter in Darvish. Going to be a great 5th game.

Responding to you at 14:20. Yes, Harper is that dude. We beat his club, but that doesn't take away from his talent. Some fans will pretend he's overrated or whatever, but he's got his pedigree for a reason. Also, kudos to Nick Castellanos stepping up for them. I can hate their team but I also respect great baseball when I see it. It was a heavyweight series.

The worst thing that could possibly happen from a Tigers WS win would be for other teams to try to use that pitching strategy for 162. Who goes to the ballpark to see how great AJ Hinch can manage his roster? We go to see players do the impossible in tough situations and teams are taking the bat out of players hands more and more.

The downside for the tigers right now is that they have to go bullpen game skubal because of the injuries our rotation has suffered especially with the guys who were injured coming back when they did they're wasnt enough time for them to find their groove again heck with montero having pitched the most inngs of his career and also hitting the strike zone more and more it makes sense why Aj is being so cautious heck it's likely the same with Jobe due to how young he is and how much innings he's already pitched this year throughout the minors

This hasn’t been brought up, but the Phillies lost this series the same exact way the Braves lost to them last year. The offense showed up in the back end of game 2 and didn’t do anything otherwise. You can’t tell me the 6 day layoff doesn’t affect the hitters. After Philly fans, players and media called out Snitker for excuses, they bow out the same exact way and largely, teams on bye have had offensive struggles. The format has to change personally to reduce the wait time. Maybe take out the travel day
@TheGreyCrayon
2 сағат бұрын
The layoff CAN have an effect on the bats, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. Dodgers are a good example this year. Their offense hasn't disappeared, and they had the same layoff as the Phillies. I think the Mets are just having a miracle run. They've been hot for a while now.

The 6th seed going so far every time is the bigger issue IMO. Opens the door for teams that get hot later on but didn't do good enough in the actual season. Not to mention teams winning their division still needing to play in the wildcard game like the Brewers.

I give Dave Roberts credit for the two wins, but the series isn't over. Dodgers are supposedly the best team in baseball. If they have another early exit in the NLDS at what point do we get to question Dave Roberts? He's the common denominator here. LA has talent other teams dream about, so I'm pretty sure there are other managers in the league that could get this team to the NLDS as well.
@russellchung3119
Сағат бұрын
I don't give Dave Roberts credit for the two wins 😂, I give it to Andrew Friedman 🤣. But, for quite some time, I've been advocating for Roberts to be replaced with someone else. I'm not on the "Fire Dave Roberts" train for everything, but I do think it's time to look for someone even more suited for the role. My problem with him is that although 99% of the time he's following Friedman's hand, there is that 1% where I feel like he goes rogue and fails to execute the hands-on aspect of. For example, last year against the D'Backs, while Lance Lynn was giving back to back to back HRs, he didn't 1) start getting a guy to warm up in the bullpen IMMEDIATELY and 2) send his pitching coach out there to buy said arm in the bullpen some time. That put the game out of reach and Friedman controls more of the "war strategy", not what's happening on the field in the in between moments where there is no war strategy. So for me, I think that there is an MLB coach out there that is more on Friedman's wavelength and is more capable than Roberts to execute in these in-between moments.

I would not compare Harper to Lindor in the "everything good about the sport" department. The guy is talented, but he has carried himself in a way that has come off as nasty, whether accurate or not, that I don't think you can put on Lindor. I'm a life-long Washingtonian who grew up an O's fan, and I really thought I would adopt the Nats as an NL squad, and Harper's vibe was a big reason why I could just not get behind them. Meanwhile, Lindor seems universally loved and respected.

Not a dodgers fan, but I put some thought to other manager options just for fun. What about Mike Scioscia? Managed the other LA team so has history in big markets, and has historically managed very superstar heavy teams? Also, when he was replaced in LAA, the team didnt do any better once he left, and he had no arms, which shows even going .500 with that squad is impressive.
@russellchung3119

As a hybrid Dodgers and Angels fan, I have to say that wouldn't be the best idea (to say it very very lightly). He's an old school manager that is notorious for shunning analytics. In fact, if anything, he's partially responsible for the Angels stunted development in the analytics and player development departments. The Angels have many problems, but one of them is the manager and the GM/President of Baseball OPS not being in lock step due to the GMs getting hold overs from previous regimes and not sticking around long enough to get their guy. The most clear example was the clash between Joe Maddon and current GM Perry Minasian. Although Joe Maddon has historically been on the forefront of being an analytics coach (being Friedman's guy on the Rays), the sabermetrics have come along way and he hasn't adapted to the times, becoming conservative and old-school. If Maddon, mind you who is less conservative than Scioscia, conflicted with GMPM, who is already less progressive than Friedman, than Scioscia and Friedman is a recipe for DISASTER.
