My new videoclip was filmed in the stunning rock church of San Nicola all' Ofra, located in the Alta Murgia National Park near Matera, Italy.
This breathtaking place, carved into the rock and overlooking a 500-meter deep canyon, has been blending nature and history for nearly 2000 years. Though difficult to reach and in a state of critical neglect, it offers a unique freedom of movement far from mass tourism.
Its energy intertwines with the history and origins of humanity, speaking to our deepest roots.
The videoclip, titled "Kepla," is divided into three segments: dawn, day, and sunset, and is inspired by the ancient Egyptian symbolism of the sun god Khepri, represented by the scarab beetle. This insect, insignificant to us, was a powerful symbol for the Egyptians. Its behavior, involving the transport and use of dung balls, symbolizes the cycle of the sun: sunset and sunrise. This connection between astronomy, philosophy, and symbolism reflects the cycle of life and time.
The ancient Egyptians saw “kheperer” as representing the very reason for life, symbolizing the day-night and life-death dualities, and thus the passage of time.
Ancient civilizations, with fewer tools than we have, studied the sky to understand the laws of reality, creating beliefs, life philosophies, and religions.
This moment of study and observation is, for me, the origin of knowledge and awareness.
There are various clues around the world that suggest humans possessed this knowledge long before the officially recognized period of the birth of civilization.
I don't know if it's true, but isn't it incredibly fascinating?
