First time I've ever seen Brody sell anyone's moves. He must have really liked Baba. Baba was known as a great boss.

I've heard it said that if Brody liked you he would do his best to help you. If he didn't like you, well, even Lex Lugar said he was afraid of Brody.

I never got to see Giant Baba perform until this match. I can see that he's very beloved and I knew the name was so respected in Pro wrestling. But just trying to be objective looking at the match he looks like a very limited performer still the match tells a great story and that's what the fans wanted.

That's what Giant Baba are all about: Telling story on the ring that connect to the audience. He comes from the era long before Japanese wrestling receive the myth of hard hitting "Strong Style" and "King's Road" many fans latter attributed. But to be fair, the Baba of the 80s you see in this video was an old one that already past his prime. Try to watch Baba in the 60s and 70s to give him more fair judgment, sort of because of course what they did in the 60s and 70s probably dont appeal more to the modern fans these days.
Every time I watch a Japanese wrestling match, I keep hearing the commentators saying a phrase that sounds like, “Strongest Man”… Anyone know what they are actually saying??

Giant Baba looks like he was a character created in the video game ARK
He was cut when when he played ball. Gigantism slowly took it's toll on his body.

Baba was highly respected in and out of the ring. A man of his word and fine promoter, he apparently didn't do much weight training which is very necessary if you're afflicted with acromegaly as gravity wears you down quick. Unfortunate there's not more videos of his early career.
