Fresh mackerel head and guts off Old LBS Tenby North Ben later on in the year if you want big bass, especially so if plenty of mackerel getting caught.

@@bengriffithsseaangling2138 it use to chuck up some big congers eels before but less so now, even lumpsuckers by there close in. And mullet if using a onion sack with bread and fish mashed up.

Just caught your video excuse the pun, really enjoyed watching it. I like your attitude on not needing expensive gear, I changed for cheap soft action rods for more expensive ones but sometimes go back to them and usually end up catching more with them, it must be the soft action that they have making the fish feel less tension on the line. Keep up the good work, I have subscribed.

Lovely flounder. Love the Pembs coastline but don’t get down there enough. Used to live down that way as a child so some fond memories. Is the Sandy cove on the intro and at the end Baratundle? Looks like it but years since I’ve been there. Stunning beach.

@@rhyswilliams1413 I may give it a go in the coming weeks. Only issue I find is it’s a very popular resort for paddle boarders and swimmers, and being quite a small beach, it doesn’t leave much room. On a quiet evening though, I’m sure it’s definitely fishable and a good mark, blocked off from the wind on both sides too!

Wicked vid, any reason you didn't set up where you were casting? Sorry to be a pain, is it clear bottom next to pier legs and is it possible to fish the left hand side of new pier, many thanks mate
@bengriffithsseaangling2138

Thanks! To be honest where the rods are, there are steps so not much room to set up, further down is flatter so much more for space. It’s flat sandy bottom just over the pier but easy to snag on the way up as there are rocks, I always find lost traces there! When it’s a big tide you’ll be pushed up the steps. Hope that makes sense

I think you’ve misunderstood my point. I’d rather fish where it’s quieter. It would be dangerous to fish in that beach at peak times. Kids and young children often play in the sea in that area and on some tides that would be dangerous. I’m a personal injury lawyer and have dealt with numerous cases where hooks have been a cause to loss of eye sight or other serious injury. My point is therefore, it’s not a risk I’d take. I’d fish elsewhere where there is less people. You’re more than welcome to fish there, our coastline is open to everyone. I, personally, am always playing to the side of caution.
