After such a length of time n use. Anything originally came with would have worn out by now. 101. I picked up a nrs-3 today and took it for a quick run. In past I had ridden a very old early to mid 90’s Nishki bushwalker. Not sure how much that was but the performance was very very similar to the NRS 1…. That nishki is a gem to ride!!

I'm a rougher rider, wheel hop front/back while waiting for traffic, rock walk a lot, bunny hop park tables all the time. Love mine and it takes good care of me. Upgraded a lot like you though. Lotsa carbon fiber. I remember those stubby handlebars. They where good in those real tight high speed trails at night but that's about it. Thanks for the upload.

Yes. I have upgraded mine since this upload can now take more hits and aggressive tricks. But yea this bike is fun and fast and can do everything well.

I have just revived one of these, having been given one about a year ago. All I got was the frame and rear shock (Fox float AVA), but I notice my linkage looks very different to yours- It's much longer. On drivetrain, I got a Suntour Zeron crankset and BB, as well as a Box Three Prime 9 groupset. We'll see how that lot holds up! Gonna give it a go tomorrow if the weather can stay good for me.

I have the NRS-4, I love it :) - bought it for £20 ($30), everything works, I dont have discs Just had a bad crash a few days ago into an old guy on a bike, I hit my bars with my chest so hard they moved 90 degrees to my wheel, so I bent it back and rode home, had to spend an hour adjusting spokes to undo the buckle, got it perfect now. These are strong! :) Its aleex rims, I think like yours! - Your bike is in this catalog bro: issuu.com/giant_italia/docs/catalogo_giant_2004_ita $2800 dollars when it was new. Its in the 2005 catalog too issuu.com/giant_italia/docs/catalogo_giant_2005_ita Mine is the Xtc NRS-4 in the 2003 catalog :3

I have an NRS. I bought used, how can I identify which revision I have? Is has the triangle-shaped rear axle mount (not the L-shaped one). Has Manitou Axel Elite fork and Giant NRS shock, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, Mavic rims, RaceFace Evolve XC cranks. I don't know which of these is stock or upgraded. By the way, my only issue is with the ISIS BB that wears down fast, I replaced it 2 times already and it is useless again, now I am finally changing to HollowTech... But I hadn't changed any hub bearings, linkage bearings, head bearings. I inspected them and they are all good. Lately I disassembled the front fork, and the only issue was the rusted springs on the seals, but still no dust/water and the seals are just fine. I replaced the springs from a cheap generic seal, it will work just fine for another decade.... The bushings does not feel worn either. I disassembled the rear hub ratchet twice to clean and regrease. I changed the shims, but it is still somewhat wobbly. But no corrosion inside! After almost 20 years, it seems impressive! Especially all those seals and 6000-2RS bearings... How they did not worn out and rusted yet... 😱

It sound like you got your bike completely stock. My hubs or isis bbs haven’t had any problem so that’s weird. It is pretty crazy the bearings do so well for almost 20. Bet great to here you like your bike

@@dnboys1949 Yeah, I like the bike. Mybe I ride to much in mud or water puddles, that's why the BB gets worn all the time. Today the HT crankset arrived, I can't wait to try it out. 😉 I upgraded with a Rock Shox Reverb dropper a few years ago, and changed the front disc to 203mm. I like the bike of course. 😉

@gabiold

@@dnboys1949 I forgot about that upgrade! I changed it almost immediately when I got the bike to a Truvativ Hussefelt 650mm riser with some back sweep. I am small, and could only get the size M frame which is still seemed big, I changed the stem to 50mm too. When I got the dropper, I have cut from the seat tube approx. 20mm. Cca. 25mm above the top tube, to leave room for recutting the slot for the seatpost clamp. This is also because my "height", this way I could lower the seat more and use more of the dropper range.

$400 should be a pretty fair price. Maybe go for like 450-500 for the first week then drop if not sold.
