The "downside" for using doublers (in the case of a CPU) is pretty small, so doing away with them is more of a "because we CAN" coolness factor than an actual performance increase. Nevertheless, it WILL be (slightly) faster at responding to transients (although doublers are usually fast ENOUGH for CPU VID calls anyway). Still, very cool! Also, I thought the TDA21475 (as opposed to the 472 seen here) was the "latest and greatest" Infineon power stage? Did I miss something?

@@WilliamRivera343 I will be using my View 71 (I also run a custom loop though so for me I just wanted a case with a lot of space for radiators). That said while my case supports E-ATX, the board will partially cover the grommets so I imagine my 24 pin and like the PCIe cables, sata, etc will be a very tight fit going through those grommets. I really like the Lian Li case because the grommets for the cable management are at an angle so I think it will probably look a bit cleaner in the end.

Awesome vid. I wonder how much effort it really takes to design a board like this. If you think about it, over-engineering is easier than designing with reasonable safety factors where you really have to balance your risk assessments for every component is harder. Especially for a board like this where the only differentiator is the overbuilt VRM, much of the price is likely down to component cost and margins to cover lower expected demand compared to more reasonable models.

The 6 power pin connector is for the rare case that someone is going to run a dual r9295 x2, i think everyone of this is like 500w

Would love to see this massive overkill VRM setup on next Threadripper motherboard. Next 3990WX or whatever it called would put the VRM to work.

Waiting for buildzoids analysis of x570 Taichi or Phantom Gaming which ever one. They have the same VRM and I believe Asrock is the only ones putting out Mobo's with Thunderbolt 3. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So in other words, if the sweet spot on the power stages is something like 50%, and 200A is the upper reach of 16-core Ryzen 3000, this board really only needs 6 phases/power stages. The other 8 are for show, and so you can pay more for the board?

I've had Problems with every single Gigabyte board that has ever come through my door . I will never give them a chance ever again. Gigabyte power delivery has always been the issue every time .Never ever had problems with Asus and Asrock motherboards. I will forever from now on only build and refer ppl to those boards!

Yeah I was so close to getting this...but after reading so much shit on it...it scares me. I want a good mother and don't mind spending a little more if its worth it...but if its gonna burn out then whats the point. Just feel bad as I have an AUROS 1080ti extreme video card and it has been great so far. It's a beast.

I feel more excited for VRMs every video even if I still don't really unconsciously understand why they matter. Looks like the board to pair with the 12/16 core CPUs

@@KarrasBastomi This board is too much for any CPU probably :D You don't need this at all for the 12 core :D

I've always silently wondered WTF do extra GPU power directly on mobo do since they're not on every PCIe3 x16 compatible motherboard? Buildzoid heard my thoughts, and He answered! Proof that *Faith in **_Tech Jesus_** will be rewarded!!*

I heard the heat output of the x570 is 11W so yeah given the surface area vs the VRM, the VRM doesn't matter for that heatsink at all

Great walk through of the motherboard - educational for me both linguistically and technically. I thought that they were aiming to upgrade from 75W to 300W power supply through to the PCIe 4? How many VRM's do you think you would you need to comfortably run/overclock a 12 core under water cooling? Given the potential security and health issues of wifi systems, which boards don't have wifi on board?

@29:00 probably the best criticism that could be said. A riser cable would have to be used in this "case," which would be realistic for any sort of fan set-up to cool this just off of air as opposed to liquid. Doesn't this board come with an m.2 pcie4 card as well? Maybe use it for that if it fits.

You can really tell this is a GN edited board analysis because Buildzoid did not go past 30 minutes at all, and the fact that the rambling was cut off at times compared to AHOC where it's raw and uncut :3c
