So what does Gimlet do?
Let's jump in!
Deployment tools are either designed with operations experts in mind, or they are simplified toys that are not able to handle the requirements you have.
Gimlet solves these issues.
First of all, you work with your git repositories.
Once you found your application's repository, you see a real time view of running instances that are
deployed to Kubernetes from this code and your code commits at the bottom.
You see which commit is deployed where, and what version is deployed on each environment.
You even see who deployed what and when.
And yes, we have a rollback button.
Let's add the new environment variable.
You make the change on the UI, then you deploy the latest commit with the change to observe how things update in the cluster.
Not a fan of dashboards? That's okay.
Every action you take creates a pull request. Heck, you can even edit the file in git. Gimlet is going to handle it just fine.
But that's not all of it. Are you in ops?
We have goodies for you.
- Need to update the YAML in a hundred microservices due to a compliance need?
Just update the deployment template and Gimlet files PRs for you.
- Need to maintain five clusters?
Gimlet's curated stack gets automatic updates with the latest patches.
- You can even add custom changes or reuse the gitops repos for your own deployments. Gimlet's three way merge preserves your changes.
All this is built on the standards of the Kubernetes world.
Just how you like it.
