That counts for the majority of WWII vets and ‘Nam vets, don’t get me wrong. People who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan had terrible experiences and a lot of them got mental issues due to it, but the majority of our military population who suffered the most back home are ‘Nam vets. Not ones from the middle east.

@@williamsherman1942 Tbh, that's likely most combat veterans of war period. But we were a lot less aware of the causes and effects of PTSD in the past. I doubt that the industrial-scale warfare of WW1 onwards helped at all, either.

@@codytyler3392 war never changes, people can change the decisions, however. it's not compulsory to be a soldier in the US, but of course there are lots of parts of the world where it is and young people are getting sacrificed like pawns in a dirty chess game. however, enlisting is part of US culture and I kinda get it now with an older head that yes, if I would come from a village and all my friends would draft for service, I guess it just has a power that would make you change your own mind as well. though thoughts to consider, indeed, even if someone - like me, thank God - have not seen any of the horrors of war in live.

I came home after 12 years, built my own house, got married, had a son, and during all of that and the amount of years that passed, a part of me is still there, and still when I heard the 13 Marines killed in Afghanistan, it hit just as hard as when I lost my Marines. We are bound by that experience of fighting killing and dying

fallujah siege happened in 2004 and ocp wasnt adopted by the army until 2016 or 2017 so a dcu would be better but it's okay anyway good video

We Americans could fight as much as we wanted ove there, the problem was incompetence by political and military leadership. If the Iraqi military wasn’t disbanded the insurgencies would’ve been shortened by a few years, and we might’ve prevented the bloody civil war.
