When I was 15 in 1979, and just starting to play guitar, my dad gave me the "Let it Bleed" album. He showed me how to play bar cords and said, "If you want to play rock n roll, then learn how to play this and he put on "Gimme Shelter". I'm 60 now. If I had to call out the 5 best days in my life, that day would be one of them.

I've seen more Stones shows than I can remember going back to 1975 and I've rarely been disappointed. Jagger does an amazing job of fronting a high energy rock band, especially for an 80 yo man. That said, his voice has not kept up with his physical conditioning and over the last 20 years or so he has become increasingly dependent on his back-up singers. At this point, he has real difficulty carrying notes and projecting his voice. He can get by on songs like Start Me Up or Satisfaction where the words are more spoken than sung, but as this video clearly demonstrates, he can't really SING anymore. And yet they are STILL undoubtably the greatest rock & roll band in the world.

I was at that show and it was an over the top high energy performance. The Stones still put on a great show. They started with 3 songs from their new album and then dove into all the old favorites. Still a great show, don't miss it if you get the chance.
