This was like throwing together Earth, wind and fire, George Benson, Rush, Santana and a front-man who looked like Elvis but dressed and had hair like Robert Plant - no wonder it was too difficult for most people to understand and classify! No problems for some of us though - bless you friends for your great taste. ❤

@@dougglenn4954 Nice to hear from you Doug. I was around 10 years old when Gino hit what I perceive as the peak. The "Crazy Life", "Poweful People", "Storm at Sunup", "Gist of the Gemini" to "Brother to Brother" sequence kinda went over my head then. Fortunately, my 10 year senior bro' planted the seed that only blossomed 10 years later as I acquired all of the above ("Gist" has always been my favorite) Now the stuff seems timeless. I may not listen for long periods, but when I return, the music is as good as ever. "Pauper in Paradise" still goes over my head, but now after chatting, I'm wondering if I may now finally be big enough for that too. I can only thank Gino for what we all recognise as something really special. Thanks to my brother too... Gino's work all had strong jazz influences, so it makes sense that I like you developed a penchant for that genre. Fusion really does it for me these days, CCEB, RTF, WR, PMG, YJackets etc.... But there'll always be a very special place in my heart for Gino...

Go listen to this in proper hi-fi, you'd be amazed. This was absolutely fluid SPL on tape way back when I heard it. The best of the 70's.

The drums are probably the best I've ever heard. Mark Craney lives forever. Great arrangements, Darryl Stuermer in the guitar, awesome.

Yeah that's Daryl. He's great... played all of Hackett's lines when he toured with Genesis.

He is one of the best few known drummers in the world, went on to be drummer for Jethro Tull, however, died at a young age.-

Awesome! I can barely make it out but it looks like there were about a total of ten extremely talented musicians, including the amazing and powerful backup singer. Pure talent expressed all throughout! But, please let’s acknowledge all of the sound recording engineers and video technicians that worked so hard behind the scenes with little if any recognition. Those people brought all of this exquisite live performance and musical ecstasy together for us to share and enjoy still to date. I thank everyone that was in any way shape or form involved with Mr. Vannelli and his talented brothers’ well deserved success. Pure musical genius!!!

Gino Vannelli is just DYNAMITE!! I am in the Generation when he first came out in the 1970's as a teenager; The lyrics for this song fit like a glove for the Civil Unrest going on in the world today. LOVE GINO VANNELLI!!

LadyofValor I listened to him in the 70’s as a young teen. The only radio station that played his music in Kansas City (where I lived) was KPRS. It was nick named the Kolored people’s radio station. It was one of my favorite stations because it played soul and funk. None of my friends listened to this type of music. I was on an island for sure! I still listen to soul, neo soul (Badu and Jill Scott among my favorites) and Gino! I think his music speaks to many people of all ethnicities!

Im a fairly typical black American raised on r&b, jazz, gospel and hip hop but Gino got me on this album. I own all his material and he is in my top ten artists male and female of modern times. He is Truth

@cgptony11 Thanx for that. I've been wondering about his whereabouts and career status. I turned a lot of people on to his music back in the early 70's before he had any major hits just because of richness of his and his brother's collaborative efforts.

This was basically high end pop music back in the late 70's. Compare this to what is on the radio today. Of course the listeners were a bit more sophisticated.
