Almost every person I know really doesn’t like knocking doors. Men hate knocking doors, but I’ve noticed women hate it more. Even I hate wasting time with people who are not qualified buyers cold calling. The trick is making yourself love something that you know you hate.
Successful sales people know that they get paid good to do what others hate.
Last week I hired a new HR girl to help with onboarding new hires.
She used to be in accounting but now she will be dealing with new sales people.
I thought what better way to get her to understand the mind of a new recruit than to make her knock some doors.
So Miranda from Accounting got summoned to a Door to Door Face-off against Tanja my Vice President of Marketing at Sky diamonds .
Neither one of them had ever knocked on doors to sell roofs. The only training both of them got was through watching SkyDiamonds University. I decided to take them on door to door blitz and hold a contest with a $500 reward.
We filmed the Door to Door face-off and got some excellent live door to door training content.
By the end of the day we had some huge wins and some embarrassing defeats.
One lady put her hands on me and threw me off her front porch. In the end we sold a ton of jobs and both girls did exceptionally well.
