To my American-English ears, she sounds like she's trying to sound "cute" when talking to people as a way to appear vulnerable so people will want to help her, but when she answers the phone, she sounds very stern and sophisticated lol.

The northeastern dialect is so funny to me because it's the exact opposite of the northeastern accent in the US. In Boston they don't even have the "儿" sound

@@kopii00 The hell is wrong with you? 😂 They're assimilating this knowledge into their minds, and to do that, they have to compartmentalize it with the only other dialect sounds they know. To put it simply, they compare with what they are already familiar with so they can remember it in the future. You do this same learning technique subconsciously all the time, but this person is writing out the process instead, so don't be obnoxious about it.

To me from Sweden its so fascinating how different things are percieved in China! Like manners towards each other or how people speak in different ways, its not at all like that here :) Of course we speak different to our elders but not to the extent of talking different to each other. It is cool to see!

Valley girl is similar to the accent girls pretend to be Taiwanese
heyo! american here! valley girl isn’t used as a derogatory/slur word. the valley girl voice is basically used by rich spoiled girls from the rich areas of california. think of the kardashians. they have that valley girl voice.

so china has sort of these two regions, north and south. northern chinese are perceived to have a very bold and strong way of speaking while southern chinese speak more softly and relaxed. and also the personalities are diff too as follows, with northerners being more straightforward and loud while southeners are more quiet and laid back. it's sort of (but not exactly) how ppl from LA are perceived as easygoing, they speak slower and are chill while new yorkers are kinda in your face, fast and aggressive lol. but obviously with it being stereotypes, stuff like this is to be taken with a grain of salt. i know a good amount of northern chn friends that are chill and southern chn that are loud

LA accent vs NY would be the closest I can think of. since LA ppl are known for the laid back relaxed vibe but new yorkers are known to be in your face and bold
