He definitely was holding himself back and when the third girl went by him he just so easily passed her and closed the gap to the leaders easily but he just wanted 3rd place for now. Notice how his stride all of a sudden looked so much better in the last 100 yards than it did the whole race.

Couple different takes in this race. Yes the obvious one, but with all the falls I went back and watched this feed and also the CIF feed about 5-6x. Is there a history between the Dana Hills and Etiwanda girls? It looks like on the 3rd lap, the E girl might have been involved in the incident where both the DH girls are tripped and then later on the same lap the DH girl that finishes 4th trips the E girl. Sadie wisely stayed out of it the entire race (running wide and watching other girls) and just raced to win/qualify for state. Same with Riley(came back and won 3200) but she was in thick of it and in danger with all the tripping. Regarding the other issue: Sadie is the Natl record holder at 4:33. In 2 years if the 3rd place finisher continues trading hard and also ‘naturally’ develops like most boys from 10th to 12th grade, in 2 years they will become the girls Natl 1600 meter record holder, ~4:25-28. This is ok? Why does CIF and NHS allow this? That wouldn’t be fair to Sadie and to the girls he displaces in races along the way. I really don’t understand this.

I'm actually kind of in shock, is that actually a guy in the red who takes off at 1:33? At first, I didn't get why people were commenting on that timestamp, but now I see what the reference is. I 100% agree, it doesn't make sense at all to allow biological men to compete with biological women in sports. As a track athlete myself, I don't see the point in racing at all if female athletes' needs are going to be set aside and we'll just be squaring up to male athletes that we are physically incapable of equalling out to. I think people should seriously boycott this and stand up for what is fair and right.

Why did he think he could race in the girls' race? These narcissists will never have the insight to know they are doing the wrong thing.

If this trend continues, boys will run in all boys and girls events. Doesn't make sense. He will have a future with Bud.

I wonder why Sadie Englehardt was looking around at the end. Was she looking to see if the dude was kicking to try to snatch away her victory? Thank goodness the dude's not going to State. I feel really bad for the girl who fell before the finish line. If she had never broken 5 minutes before, this was her golden chance. When I was a sophomore in high school breaking 5 was a monumental goal. I broke it, but barely. It seemed like a mental barrier for me.

The parents around the camera are nasty. Everyone is participating within the rules. If you don't like the rules get them changed, don't tell kids to "trip her".

Your right they should telling them to trip HIM. There’s no reason for a washed dude to be racing against girls. Protect women’s sports.
