I didn't really like or enjoy Dumoulin before but i gotta say.... today he was an absolute BEAST! He climbed up in the front and chasing all the way and still managed to take time on everybody and win the stage! I guess everybody expected him to just limit the damage by trying to follow or lose as less time as possible but he proved everybody wrong
@svenk5546

He won a heroic stage in de Vuelta by beating men like Chris Froome and last year he won the queen stage in TDF (even more heroic). Hard to say that he's a boring rider

This is the best Grand Tour stage I have seen in several years, amazing. Tom Dumoulin is an awsome rider, tall, incredible TT and super climbing ability for his height. Also, he is a beautiful man and really suits winning the Giro! I was shouting at the finish lol

I have always liked Tom Dom. The Vuelta where he showed he could dig deep to battle the favourites but without the boring, effortless styles of other riders. You can see he hurts, but he pushes through it. Time will tell if he can hold it through the race, but he is similar to Geraint Thomas. Not a 100% natural climber, has an engine but works hard to get where he is.

One of the best stages i have ever watched. On a climb like this, Dumoulin has great chance, just like the Vuelta 2015 when he outsprinted Froome. Tough week ahead for him, he might have a little chance but i hope he wins the Giro oh and what about that commentating!!!

I'm enjoying incycle's coverage. Such great racing. Using a solo commentor is working well for me. Maybe one day coverage will be able to capture The steepness of the terrain. That would be nice. (It is humorous to watch the crowd all standing at the same odd angle). I've seen motorcycle coverage where the horizon stays horizontal and the bike now leans. (A relief). All the best.

Ragnar Lothbrok quintana has to have at least a 3 minute lead by stage 21 cuz dumoulin is gonna tear that tt
@filmevoncosima
7 жыл бұрын
he knows that himself - watch his interview... but Dumoulin will gain at least 2 mins more at the last day against Quintana and Pinot; so they have to distance him for about 5 mins in the mountains - and that's a big deal at the form Dumoulin has shown
@Ivan-nu2um

Atharva Kshirsagar Not i don't think the last TT its after a hard hard week so its more the fresher rider will gain time and i think quintana will loose yes but not much like the stage 10 its really different
@filmevoncosima

we will see; I think he will loose much time in that TT, because it is an extreme fast course and so the lighter and less aerodynamic Quintana will have even more problems as in the 1. TT

Ragnar Lothbrok of course Oropa wasn't a mountain stage - it was just a flat stage with a mountain finish. But nonetheless he didn't loose time either on the Etna or at Oropa, and he will not loose 5 or 6 mins at stage 16 and 18 too... what would be necessary because he will gain time in the last TT

Dumoulin can now afford to lose four minutes to Quintana in the Dolomites. I'm backing Tom for the win. Quintana should have saved his energy in the last two kilometres; he was never going to win this stage. Thought Dumoulin showed a lot of experience and just rode a good tempo to reel Nairo back in.
